Fresno Pacific University Summer Music Camp

This is a real heartbreaker, but we want to thank you all for your unparalleled interest and support of the Camp. We look forward to a great season in 2021! Have a good and safe summer!

Wow, just 19 days until Camp! It wouldn't be complete without our String Program faculty, Susan Doering and Dieter Wulfhorst. How can I begin to explain the amazing violinist and cellist that form the Emerald Duo? That travel worldwide because everyone wants to hear them perform? And they are at FPUSMC XII because I asked them a year in advance so they would save OUR week! (Actually, the first thing I do once we say goodbye at camp is ask them for next year!)

We heard about instruments yesterday. What about vocal? Two great teachers join us again in 2019: Bethany Alvey and Sherah Burdick! Dr. Alvey directs the choir and Mrs. Burdick leads the Musical Theater elective and our voice master classes. Both also teach music at FPU. Random factoid: while Mrs. Burdick is from Clovis, Dr. Alvey and Dr. Saul are from the same East Coast state! Wonder which one that is?! Visit www.fresno.edu/musiccamp now to apply! As we move closer to our June 1st deadline for applications, I thought I would introduce some of our staff. Dr. Erik Leung runs our Woodwind/Brass program and is also Chair of the Music Department at Fresno Pacific University! His Symphonic Band has been the featured ensemble at CASMEC, the Western International Band Clinic, and the Sutherland Band Clinic. My alma mater! I sang in the Duke Chorale back in the 1970's. This will be a stellar choral program with music by 4 California composers, including Yours Truly, in a beautiful space. Tickets are available at the door.
