This weekend our muralist, Sam Lazcano started our Janessa Ramirez Community Mural at the Granville-Teague Community Resource Center by Highway City CDC. To honor, remember and bring awareness to the Janessa Ramirez Scholarship Fund, this mural will be permanent in our community for years to come. Today, we feature Ms. Bautista from Glacier Point Middle School and her super cool #steam project, Husky Arcade! Ms. Bautista was selected to receive a #classroomprojectgrant and is getting her 7th/8th graders engaged with this project. Utilizing engineering and coding students will build their own cardboard arcade! -"It is always our hope as STEAM educators that our classes focus on real-world skills and experiences. Through the process of building their arcade machines, students will be doing just that." Congrats Ms. Bautista and we really can't wait to see this project come to life! A huge congrats to Ms. Gonzalez at Central High School. She was selected to receive a #classroomprojectgrant and will use it for the Mexican #folkorico dance program. Established in 1997, the program is one of the largest in #Fresno and currently serves 225 students. Students host 2 major shows a year and countless performances throughout the valley. Ms. Gonzalez plans to purchase practice skirts for the students to continue practicing at home during distance learning! Congrats again to Ms. Gonzalez and her students.
