A good time was had by all yesterday morning in Marina at the retired firefighters breakfast. Thanks guys.........

Stopped at an Indian casino near Clear Lake, Mendocino County, northern California, in a Monterey County "Out of County" Strike Team ...August 1996...Enroute to a large fire to the northeast of Clear Lake...the fire was named the Fork Fire...the Strike Team leader was Steve Negro from Salinas Rural....the strike team consisted of engines for structure protection from Salinas, Hollister, Monterey, Carmel Highlands and NPS/FtOrd....

I sent along some pictures of retired Deputy Fire Chief Ruben Abeyta on some of our 4x4 trips into the Mojave Desert from the early 90's. I sent them to Ruben and he called me yesterday afternoon....it was great talking to him and he said he really got a kick out of seeing those...and I have some more he'll like !

I have some sad news today, just heard from retired Captain Dave Bruegl that former Ft Ord Firefighter Bill Miller died yesterday.

Harald Kelley, former Fort Ord Fire Dept Fire Captain and retired City of Marina Fire Chief called earlier in the week to say he was coming to visit and would be here in the later part of April. We're really looking forward to seeing him and showing him around.

On Aug 29 there was a breakfast at the Denny's in Marina and attendees included...R.G. Nutt, Bob Silva, Dennis Maguet, John Surry, Harald Kelley, Larry Escobido, Ted Pewthers, Dennis Gadsky, Steve Thornton and Michael Feher. A good time was had by all...
