SCMF Fire Lookout volunteers are back in the forest looking for signs of fire. In the past few months, they have spotted over 10 "smokes", either campfires or f...ires, in our local mountains. These volunteers are a great help in our communities, keeping an eye out for the safety of our forest. https://buff.ly/2DHG1y4 See more

REGARDING DEVILS SLIDE TRAIL: FYI Please be aware, the ranger station has received several reports from hikers of being attacked and stung by aggressive hornets on Devils Slide Trail (one of the hikers said about 2/3 up the trail.)They were stung numerous times as well as their dog. Keep this in mind if you will be hiking there, especially with your dog. People are also reporting being stung on Ernie Maxwell trail as well.
