Good news! Comer Johnson gave our message last Wednesday! He has a delightful gift for shedding light on Scripture, incorporating his down-home brand of humor, wisdom and insight. When Comer teaches, we know we can look forward to being inspired, informed, motivated, and at the same time entertained! Disrupted plans, deferred hopes, and unrealized dreams? That sounds like a downer, but not after Comer's wisdom is applied! Disappointment filtered through God's plan will always lead to good and great things! And you’re going to love this: Since it was St. Patrick’s Day, green was everywhere, but better still, Glory Parsons sang a Christian song to the melody of O Danny Boy titled "I Cannot Tell"! That alone was worth the trip because it's what WE, as Christians, CAN TELL that blesses our daily walk with the Lord!

Our last Zoom meeting (before our March 17th LIVE meeting) featured Comer’s sister, Carol, and their friend, Jerry Davis, who joined us from Florida. Jerry has been a volunteer with Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse for many years and shared details about the work of that ministry, including their volunteer service in places where natural disasters have caused great damage and cost people their lives. There was a Q&A session at the end. An added treat was a duet by Carol and Jerry who have sung together in church for years, and Carol will sing a solo ONE LAST TIME! (We hope there will always be another "one last time" from Carol!)

Has anyone ever shoved to get in front of you in line? Have you experienced another driver practically running you off the road in order to get ahead of you? Have you witnessed cheating so that the person or team could win? The desire to be first is not just a characteristic of today, but was also a problem of human nature even in Jesus’ time. And He, the King of kings, had some definite things to say about it. Nancy shared Jesus’ words, The first will be last and the last w...ill be first. Please note: Comer Johnson picked two great songs for this Zoom meeting. To avoid copyright issues, they were removed from the Zoom recording, but you can listen to them by clicking these links: Angie Primm - Said I Wasn't Gonna Tell Nobody (Live) https://youtu.be/l6_HO_sRo_c Power in prayer w/ lyrics - 11th Hour https://youtu.be/Zl2IV6WBV8A

We were honored to have Steve Brown as our presenter several weeks ago. You remember Steve big man, big voice with a lot of wisdom to share! He talked about how wonderful it is to know we're a Child of God, particularly when we face big changes in our lives. Several others in our group shared their thoughts. We, as Christians, are blessed to know we're never alone, even when we face life's biggest changes. [PLEASE NOTE: Due to technical difficulties, this recording is incom...plete, so you may notice some awkward "transitions" between segments.] Also, we enjoyed several songs - Buddy Greene, Bob Cain, Jessy Dixon - Official Video for 'Leaning On the Everlasting Arms: https://youtu.be/w-yYXFPCjJw And Jessy Dixon - Official Video for 'Master, The Tempest Is Raging: https://youtu.be/RSBPhGa8QD0

Loren Shoquist led the discussion about sharing our faith with not-yet believers. We all know we should, but often we don’t because we don’t quite know how, so Loren gave us practical tips that will help us lead into sharing. Plus, Mike Curtis shared one of his own witness experiences.

Comer Johnson did our program last week, and what a marvelous program it was! His theme was, Promises that are Never Broken, and in addition to his comments, some of our friends shared their favorite Bible promises along with their reasons why. Comer’s sister Carol in Florida sang for us, which is always a special treat! She said it was the last time, but we're counting on her giving us one more "last" song! And another! And another! Plus, there were two uplifting videos! You'll want to watch this one over and over again!

This is our virtual Christmas celebration we had on 12/16/2020. Given changes in the Zoom software and some rust due to not holding Zoom meetings for a while, not to mention iffy Internet connections, you'll have to suffer through some glitches to get to the gems in this video, but they're worth it! Plus, you'll get to see some familiar faces! God Bless you all! Merry Christmas!!! And Happy 2021! https://youtu.be/RtTXpWiGTmE

Our very own Bryan Quintard was at the microphones on 11/11, teaching us about Spiritual Warfare. The Bible has some definite alerts on the subject, so it’s important that we be educated so that we can deflect the enemy’s fiery darts! This is Veteran’s Day, and Bryan says, We are all veterans of a spiritual war, and the battles are on-going; however, we all know Who wins the final victory!

You remember Steve big man with the big voice. Actually, he was our very first speaker when Foothills Seniors opened at Foothills Church. You’re going to love his topic: Better Together from Hebrews 10:23-25. It’s possible to do life on our own and think we don’t need others, but the truth is -- God has ordered people to come into your life, to strengthen you, to encourage you, and to push you toward fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. Steve teaches with power, authority, personal stories, and humor, and this message holds special relevance for today. https://youtu.be/qiYpA5F07W4

Nancy Curtis was at the microphone to share God’s message, Jesus is the Light of the World. In this world where there seems to be a growing attachment to darkness, we need The Light, do we not? In Him, there’s life and hope and goodness, to name just a few. Nancy is convinced that the Bible is relevant and applicable to our lives today and loves highlighting its treasures with personal illustrations, as well as touches of humor. https://youtu.be/1FSwDfGXyOg
