The rain doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon so don't put away your boots just yet! Take care of your rain boots and clean them regularly as they are more prone to mold and bacteria compared to your average shoe. During this wet weather it is also important to change your socks frequently to avoid painful blisters or infections.

Did you know high heels are wrecking women's feet? Experts say to stay low and not to wear any shoe with a heel more than two inches tall. Wearing shoes that keep your feet at a more natural position will reduce soreness, inflammation, and chances of a stress fracture.

Sunny So Cal weather will be back next week and it may be tempting to get your nails done, but be careful! It is important to remember that getting a pedicure can result in toenail fungus if the nail technician does not sterilize their tools properly. If you notice your toenails have become thicker, brittle, changed in shape, are darker in color, or appear dull you may have a fungal infection. To learn more about treatment follow our link (http://bit.ly/2jVfVBR) so we can get your toes sandal ready!

While it may be tempting to slip your feet into a pair of these boots this winter, there is an ugly truth to Uggs. This type of shoe gives off the appearance and feel of support, yet they are actually harming our feet! Uggs flatten the arch of the foot which can cause problems for our feet, ankles, legs, and back. Make sure to wear orthotics to get proper support and always wear socks to avoid bacteria which can accumulate in these furry boots!

Happy #Thanksgiving week! As Thursday approaches, it is important to be aware of possible foot afflictions associated with this celebratory time of year. Gout is an ailment that can cause swelling, redness, and soreness, most commonly in the big toe joint. This type of joint inflammation is developed from a buildup of uric acid and is often caused from not pacing yourself at big holiday meals, increased alcohol intake, and stress! Enjoy yourself this Thanksgiving, but think twice before you take another bite of Brie or have an extra glass of wine. Balance out indulgences with a lot of water and antioxidants (like blueberries and pomegranate seeds).
