Check out these quick facts and remember these simple rules to stay safe behind the wheel: Don’t dr...ive impaired: alcohol and drugs (any type- prescription, illegal, or even over-the-counter) can impair your driving. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel: place your phone out of reach while driving (it is against the law to use one as a minor while driving) and limit distractions in your car like extra passengers, eating, drinking, and loud music. Buckle up: before starting your car, make sure you and all your passengers are wearing their seat belt. Follow the speed limits. Trust us, your parents will thank you. Speed is not only a key factor in many crashes, but it also can come with a hefty price tag if you get a speeding ticket. Limit the passengers in your car. Studies have shown a correlation between the number of passengers in a car and the increased risk of a vehicle crash.
