It's a privilege to support CAL FIRE's aerial firefighters on the ground, as they continue to fight wildfires throughout California. #CALFIRE #Sacramento #CAwildfire #aerialfirefighting
We had the honor of welcoming Major General Ondra L. Berry, the Adjutant General of the Nevada National Guard, to the Sacramento McClellan Airport today. #Aviation #Sacramento
An update about the firefighting efforts taking place throughout California and out of CAL FIRE's aerial retardant base at Sacramento McClellan Airport. #CAwildfire
Via DVIDSHUB: "Nevada Air National Guard aircrew equipped with the U.S. Forest Service’s Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System, or MAFFS, saw their firefighting activation orders extended this week as fires continue to threaten life and property across California." The crew has been at Sacramento McClellan Airport since July 29 and their current extension is set to last through Sept. 17.
Happy National #AviationDay! We're proud to both be a part of and serve the aviation community.
A view of last night's lightning captured from the airport! We hope everyone is staying safe and cool this week.
Our McClellan Jet Services CSRs are always happy to provide recommendations for local places to dine. Here are a few of their favorite restaurants, located less than five minutes from the airport in McClellan Business Park. - Beach Hut Deli (5411 Luce Avenue) - Drewski's (5504 Dudley Blvd.) - The Officer's Club (3410 Westover Street) ... They can also coordinate catering for you. Call (877)977-5387 for more information.
A C-130 Hercules from Nevada Air National Guard’s 152nd Airlift Wing High Rollers deployed to the airport last week. It will be joined by one from the Air Force Reserve’s 302 Airlift Wing out of Peterson Air Force Base at Colorado Springs. #aviation #california #cawildfires
Sacramento McClellan Airport is the nation’s largest privately-owned, public use airport. On the average day, we see hundreds of aircraft ranging from small private aircraft to C-17s. Did you know the wingspan of a C-17 is 169 feet?
Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897. She became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and the first person ever to fly solo from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland. #AmeliaEarhartDay
It’s always a privilege to be the host site for CAL FIRE, the US Forest Service, and other wildfire agencies for their annual MAFFS training. This photo was taken by a member of our MJS team last month.
Click the links below for a great podcast discussion from National Air Transportation Association about how aircraft and facility cleaning has shifted from service to necessity during COVID-19. Our McClellan Jet Services team is closely following all CDC and local protocols to keep our airport tenants and visitors safe.
