Our 17 Fluff Buddies kitties who found new homes during March 2021!!
We wanted to share this photo of our 8 year old cat (left) and our newly adopted Khora. We adopted Khora, who we were told was rescued from a feral colony in a...n industrial area, on March 27. But she is anything but feral. She is one of the most loving, friendly, and intelligent kittens we have ever known. In only a few short weeks, she has become a huge part of our family. After a few days of hisses and growls, our other cat has welcomed her as well and now they sleep on the same bed and play together. Khora, who we named Meira, loves balls and toy mice. We discovered tonight that she is talented in playing fetch with her mice. Since her adoption, our adult cat has been much less lonely, sleeping less and playing more with her new sister. Thank you to Kim and Fluff Buddies for giving us the chance to welcome this little girl to her forever home with us. We couldn't be happier. See more
I wanted to share a current foster story. It’s a glimpse of what fosters go through long before the kitties are ready for adoption. A new foster couple took in a pregnant friendly stray that had been hanging out on their friend’s porch. The couple named her PK, for Porch Kitty. I assured this couple that a friendly mama was the way to go, super easy! Rule #1, do not ever anticipate something will be easy! After weeks of waiting, Mama PK finally gave birth on March 31, 2021. ...She had two sweet kittens. The next day, April 1, 2021, the couple took PK to the vet, just to make sure there were no other babies inside PK. There were 2 still inside, alive! Shout out to Cirby Sunrise Veterinary clinic for staying late to do a c section on PK. PK went home with all of her babies, 4 in total, +1 stray singleton that PK accepted as her own. Everything was looking good, but PK had a huge incision and was in pain and could barely get up and was not eating. She did allow her babies to nurse, but that was all mama could do. The fosters had to do the rest for mama, including bathing and helping them go potty. After a couple of very nervous days, PK started to bounce back and things were looking up. However, one of the babies, Stubby, that was born via c section, began having breathing problems. Baby Stubby did not make it, but she was loved. As of today, Mama PK is doing great and her babies are growing fast. Please enjoy this video of Mama and her babies. Mama PK is a warrior! See more
