Did a long rectangular centerpiece & some small matching ones at by the foyer, coffee table, bathrooms & one by the food table. Rewind...my first Bouquets to Art selection day was in 2020...but Covid happened so...I am back to square one...choosing my 5 favorite pieces today. Bouquets to Art @ the De Young Museum is on June 8-13, 2021. This was my dream/bucket list come true deal and this happened because of CCSF Floristry which program they are trying to cut by getting rid of teachers from a very bare bones department already. Opportunities like this will be forever lost without the department & the teachers. My entry to the @neotropicahawaii bridal bouquet competition. I chose the yellow box of tropical flowers. I used water tubes tied in the palm pod and to cover it, I used 1 stem rhapis palm & 2 anthurium foliages. For the bouquet, I used the heliconia psittacorum; green tropic ice anthuriums; lemon yellow oncidiums; uluhe ferncurl; and for the temperate flowers, I used orange garden roses & mini roses. Had to place some rocks to the terrarium to make it prettier. The more I look at it, the more it looked like a prop box, and how dare me not add design on it right? Jewel Orchids. I came across this plant when I was looking for beautiful, unusual, easy to care for plants and I started collecting them. They are known for their iridescent foliage veinage that if it hits the light, it’s almost gold-looking. I realized that I don’t get to see and enjoy them in my plant shelf. I also found out that they are good to plant in a terrarium setting because they need a lot of humidity, so I got a glass terrarium. I have them displayed in my table ...so I can enjoy looking at them.
