First Lutheran Church (El Cajon)

Originally the Friday Bible readings were to continue until we resumed service in the sanctuary. With our return to indoor worship this Sunday we didn’t livestream today. But, Pastor has received requests to continue. If you would like him keep live streaming each week please let us know in the comments below.

We continue from Acts 14.

Today we start Acts! Many of you have asked that we limit the reading to an hour. Please let us know if you like it in the comments.

Pastor Fedder will not be able to read tomorrow the 29th of May due to a funeral he will be officiating. Sorry, he will continue with the Books of Acts next Friday.

Greetings in the Holy Name of our Risen Savior Jesus Christ. Today, Friday the 22nd of May, President Trump and the CDC have declared that churches and other places of worship are in fact essential and should be allowed to open immediately. The CDC has also released general guidelines for re-opening churches. For all of this and for preserving us through this time we give thanks to our gracious and loving Father in Heaven. My initial hope was to have services this Sunday the ...24th, and we have been waiting for guidelines to emerge from the state today. No guidelines have come but, Gov. Newsom has announced that he will release guidelines for churches on Monday. In respect for Governor Newsom, and in good faith that he will in fact give us guidelines to follow on Monday, First Lutheran will wait one more week to reopen. Our plan at this time is to re-open for worship next Sunday the 31st, Pentecost Sunday. While I would prefer to have some kind of service this Sunday, this slight delay will allow us to follow the proscribed state guidelines if they come. We still do not know what this service will look like as we wait for California to catch-up and release recommendations. Expect an update on Tuesday and rejoice and know that corporate worship and communion is only a week away, thanks be to God! In Christ, Pastor Andrew Michael Johnson Fedder
