This week's Wednesday night training at FJFD training grounds included practicing rescue operations for vehicle accidents. Firefighters learned where to cut in various situations and how to keep themselves and their patient safe while getting the job done as quickly as possible. #autoextrication #neverstoptraining #fortjonesfire #Holmatro
Fort Jones firefighters returned last night after 14 days assigned to the Slater fire in Happy Camp. Additionally, E-1314 got about a week off when the base moved to another area due to visibility issues, but is staffed again doing crash rescue standby at Scott Valley Helibase. #fortjonesfire #slaterfire #helibase
Crash rescue standby at Scott Valley Helibase with E-1314. It's a busy season for Fort Jones Firefighters, but we're dedicated to providing the very best service to the residents of Scott Valley! The city is still staffed and we're ready 24/7 to respond to emergencies in addition to our staffed engine on assignment. #fireseason #fortjonesfire
A lot of people are wondering where the smoke is coming from. Currently, we have no fires burning in Siskiyou County. This smoke is coming from the Red Salmon Complex that is burning in the Shasta Trinity National Forest. For information on visit: www.inciweb.nwcg.gov

Fort Jones Firefighters are working hard in conjunction with Scott Valley Fire, Cal Fire, and Etna Fire to extinguish multiple lighting fires resulting from the storm tonight.
Fort Jones Fire responded two engines and one chief officer to assist with a reported structure fire on Main Street in the City of Etna. First arriving crews reported a well involved garage fire with extension to a neighboring structure. Fort Jones crews assisted Etna Fire Department with initial fire attack and overhaul along with CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit, Scott Valley Fire, and Montague Fire Department. Crews are still on scene so please avoid the area.
Our firefighters responded this evening to a report of a head-on collision on Main st. All occupants refused medical transport and the roadway is now clear. Thanks to all responding agencies!
