100 Dogs need baths this Friday. Thats right I said 100... They are arriving from China saved from the Meat Market. We need help assisting in... baths, fresh air, food, TLC and back on a plane to East Coast. Friday 1 to 8 pm. We need drivers, bathers, poop pick up, feeding stations for the dogs. this poor sweet, starving Kitty was left in a box at an apartment building on long beach. She was completely flea-infested and anemic. One of our wonderful volunteers ran right out and got her some baby food and we are hoping that she pulls through

November is adopt a senior month and these girls are not immune to what 2020 has thrown at us. Eydie's (8yr old bulldog) mom is dying of cancer and wants to find a great home for her. Eydie is a typically bully and wants her hooman all to herself, so may do best as an only dog but fine with kids. Chloe (11yr old German Shephard) thinks she is a puppy and loves to play, wrestle, cuddle, gossip and be involved in everything her foster family does. She is good with other dogs ...and kids. And Lola (9yr old Golden retriever) is living the good life on a florida island. She was surrendered to us after being kept in a side yard for her entire life. She has a myriad of medical issues and didn't even know what a toy, treat or bed was. Our wonderful supporters and precious neighbors jumped on a plane, scooped her up and took her back to their home where she will get fantastic Medical Care, all the love in the world a golden brother. We are in awe and were so touched that such great people rallied behind this poor sweet girl. A heartfelt Thanks goes out to this family for jumping in and adopting this senior in need regardless of any potential Medical and not knowing how mich time they get with her. At our clinic! We all thought it was cute as heck!

Neither rain nor hail nor freezing cold nor downright weird weather will stop Fix Long Beach’s volunteers! Yesterday, Saturday, Nov. 7, our first clients got a nice surprise for braving the conditions to protect their petscat rescue Helen Sanders CatPAWS donated gift cards for Petco. A few of these neat hoomans and their babies are featured here. We’ll be seeing you very soon for our spay/neuter clinics.

Join us for Wag-O-Ween October 10! Bring your furry friend and pick up a Halloween Costume for your pooch, a toy, and have a veggie dog or burger while enjoying the sounds of Pulp Vixen and Totally GoGos! We will have tables set up for 6-ft social distancing. Please remember to wear a mask!

Yet another huge thanks to Eric Hatch of the LaunderPet family! He delivered us huge bags of high-quality dog food for the furry friends of our clients! Much thanks to this generous human who’s been helping us both before and during this pandemic!

We occasionally see kids (and adults!) lifting their cat or dog up without giving them support. When any of our volunteers spot this behavior, we always correct it. Sometimes, it takes a couple of times, but we don’t give up. Lifting your pet under the front arms or by the neck scruff can hurt them. Like us, they have delicate innards. Always support their back legs with your other hand. It’s a nice little cradle, and they can lick your face more easily. Here’s a graphic showing how to lift a catit goes for doggies, too!
