Initially I came into gym ownership inspired first and foremost by the theme of complacency, which is by far the very thing that blocks creativity. Just like in training, I wanted to give a whole new meaning to the idea of being never finished. Here’s a great stretch using a lat machine pull down with an emphasis on stretching your lats, chest, as well as a back extension of the erector spinae muscle. And similar to the Warrior Yoga pose you will also get a good stretch of both the front and rear thigh (quadriceps and hamstrings), and hips. By holding a loaded lat bar above with your arms fully extended behind your ears you should feel a stretch along the lateral part of your back and into your lateral armpit region (where the muscle attaches) as the bar pulls your arms. By leaning into the stretch you will also bring out a stretch in your chest as well as a light stretch on your biceps. You should not feel a stretch on your the front side of your shoulders. If you’re feeling any tingling in your arm or fingers , you are probably stretching too aggressively. Tight lats, chest and biceps inhibit you from holding a bar behind your shoulder blades pulls the shoulder blade forward. Hold each street for a minute twice and overtime you will feel more comfort in holding a bar behind your neck.
