What is the value of your soul to God, Could your worth be defined by an amount of money? God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made. How then could he forget or abandon you? What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course they do! So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world. (Luke 12:7) Out of all creation in the world, you are still His chosen treasure. One thing tha...t can make us feel far away from God is forgetting that He is God! Even the sparrows of the sky and the waves of the ocean know His name, because He cares for them as their Creator. If the God of the universe won’t abandon the little sparrow, how could He abandon you? The love of God chases after you every day, refusing to leave you alone even for a moment. His love is not passive, but active. His loving presence leaps into your life, desiring to walk with you every second. He knows every detail about you and every thought before you even think it. He knows your likes, dislikes, heart’s desires, quirks, mannerisms, and the number of hairs on your head! He knows the problems you face as well as the solutions. He has completely memorized you. Why? Because you are His beloved. Knowing this, how could He ever forget about you? Your worth is immeasurable, because it is found in Christ. There is no earthly currency or metric system to measure your worth to God. In His eyes, you are priceless. Your worth to Him is greater than the deepest ocean and magnitude of the universe itself. He purchased you with the heavenly currency of His blood! TODAY: Rejoice! For you are more valuable to Him than anything else in the world!

Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysterious way he carries out his plans? (Romans 11:33) Our God is a god of mystery. Many times our human minds want to figure everything out and we end up becoming frustrated when we cannot understand His ways.... God is infinite and we are not. His ways are so far beyond our comprehension, so it is futile to try to shove God in our box of human knowledge. Instead of asking, why? and how?, we can choose to simply trust in God. There are times He will purposely keep things a mystery to us in order to keep us from relying solely on our own understanding and fall into a stupor of self-sufficiency. Let us look to Him in child-like trust, knowing that He wants what is best for us. We can wonder in awe at His infinite and mysterious nature. Whenever you feel worry creeping in or the need to understand what cannot be understood, remind yourself of God’s endless wisdom and perfect knowledge. Rather than striving to wrap your mind around His mysteries, ask Him, What do you want me to be doing right now?. Even though you will never fully understand His ways, thank Him for helping you to view situations and people the way He views them. TODAY: When you invite Him into your perceptions, you will be able to walk in a divine peace and strength that does not require your human understanding.

Let Him Restore You The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. Psalm 23:1-3 Beloved, we need to take time to just be alone with God like David did. The Lord told us through Isaiah, In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength (Isa. 30:15). At times we need to break away from all the busyness of life and simply go into nature. God uses those t...imes to impart Himself to us and restore our souls. I know it’s not always easy to get away from all the things that we’re used to doing. We’re in such a habit of being busy that it’s hard to stop that cycle, sit before the Lord, and receive from Him. But, there’s such a blessing in taking the time to just be quiet and rest in the Lord. I want to encourage you today to make time in your life to simply sit with the Lord in nature. Look for a quiet place where you can just sit among the trees and listen to the birds. If you live in a cold climate, perhaps you can just look out at the snow blanketing the ground. If you live near the beach, perhaps you can sit and listen to the waves crashing against the shore or take walks on a path through the woods. Just being in the stillness of God’s creation reprograms and recalibrates our system to function in such a way that we can receive more of God’s presence into our souls. There have been times in my life when I have felt so tired spiritually that I’d go out into nature and just lie on the ground and ask the Father to restore my soul. Maybe you can relate. Perhaps you feel like I do at times exhausted. And it’s not even just a physical exhaustion; it’s a spiritual and emotional exhaustion. The Lord can restore your soul. If you can find a way to be outside, sit alone with God, and pray to Him from your heart, He will impart renewal and healing by His Spirit. It may not happen all at once, but He is faithful. As you reach out to Him, He will draw near to you and breathe restoration into your soul.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8) People only see what they are able to see. One person looks into the midnight sky and sees specs of light across an endless void. Another looks at the same sky and can call the stars by name, identifying planets and galaxies. Another can look at the same sky and use it as a compass, navigating their way across the open sea.... People only see what they are able to see. How then do we see God? By purity of heart "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Our Lord's word for purity is 'katharos.' The Greeks used 'katharos' in referencing wine and metals that were "unmixed." Pure unadulterated wine, not mixed with water, and metals with no trace of alloy. You can translate Matthew 5:8 as "happy is the man who remains undivided, whose heart is focused on God, for that man shall see God." To have a pure heart means to have a heart that is solely committed to pleasing God. This singular focus is essential because " the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts" (1 Chronicles 28:9). That is why David's prayer was, Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). How do we achieve purity of heart? On our own, we can't. A pure heart is the work of God a pure heart is a gift from God. Purity of heart begins at the new birth (regeneration) and continues as God the Spirit lives in us and guides us. Purity of heart is not instantaneous, it is progressive; as we grow in purity, we will grow nearer to God. And one day, when we are perfected at Christ's return, "we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is" (1 John 3:2). On that day "the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads (Revelation 22:3-4)." Until that day, we strive for a singular focus. We implore a relentless drive to be holy as God is holy. And what we will see clearly then, we can experience in part now. Like David, we can say, "How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light (Psalm 36:7-9)." Your prayer today, "God help my heart be set on you and only you. Walk with me today God, prepare my heart to enjoy you forever."

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jeremiah 33:3) I think one of the sweetest sounds is the voice of a loved one. Hearing your child say, Mama, or Daddy is a life-changing moment. Getting a call from someone special can make your whole day!... But it isn’t just the call. It’s the person, the voice behind the call. Did you know that God loves you so much that He desires to hear from you? His Word says to call out to Him and He will answer - He will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. How exciting and awesome is that!? It’s like being a child and opening a box of cereal to get the prize that is inside. What amazing and wonderful things does Jesus have to reveal to you today? God is ready to answer your prayers. All He asks is that you call to Him. His desire is to have a relationship with you. When you pray, it gives you an opportunity to see Him answer. It acknowledges your need for Him. TODAY: Lord, thank you for guiding. Open my heart to your Word. Teach me the great and hidden things as I seek you!

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high is the love of Christ for you. (Ephesians 3:18) Have you heard the expression, There is power in numbers? When we are struggling, we tend to want to isolate ourselves. ... However, the Bible tells us to draw near to other believers. When we can’t feel God moving, we can still encounter His love through His Word and our church body and God-given friendships. Ephesians tells us that, God’s love is wide, and together with all the saints we can grasp that love! When we seek God among other believers, we get a fuller picture of how deep and wide God’s love for us is! Lean into those who can walk alongside you as you seek to understand the depths of God’s love for you and all of His followers. TODAY: Take time today to connect with other followers of Christ. The Primary Ways God Speaks Today While we must never limit God in the methods He uses to speak to us, from my experience and observation, I believe there are three main ways God speaks to us today: 1. Through His Word The Bible is the Word of God, His complete revelation, and it’s His foremost way of communicating with us today. The Bible is His Word for all people because it speaks to the basic human condition, and it addresses every emotion, human relationship dynamic, ...problem of the heart, aspect of the psyche, temptation or desire, heartache or joy, and issue of faith, hope, and love. The Bible covers it all! Whenever we face difficulties, experience heartaches, or have questions, we should go first to Scripture. There, God will speak to us directly, personally, intimately, and effectively (Josh. 1:7-8). 2. Through His Holy Spirit As we walk daily in the Spirit, surrendered to His power, we have the right and privilege to expect anything that we need to hear from God. The Holy Spirit living within us and speaking to us reminds us of what God has said and done for us in the past. His Spirit gives us the words we need to say, the direction we need to go, and guides us in our prayers for ourselves and others. By His Holy Spirit, God guides us each day, saying no to everything that would bring us harm, delivering us from evil and temptation, and speaking in our hearts a yes to everything that will bring us blessing. 3. Through Other Believers in Christ God uses people to speak to each of us. Some may be total strangers. Others may be dear friends, members of our immediate families, pastors, teachers, or Bible study group leaders. God gives us comfort and counsel through the words of other believers to encourage and admonish us when we need it most. Look for God to confirm His Word. He may direct you to two or more passages of the Bible that convey the same meaning. He may cause you to hear a sermon or a Bible lesson that’s right in line with what He’s said to you in His Word. He may bring a total stranger across your path to speak a word that seems amazingly on target with last Sunday’s sermon. The multiple messages to you are part of God’s assurance plan that He’s the One who’s speaking and that He wants you to get His message without question or doubt (Rom. 8:26). Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. By faith Abraham, when he was called [by God], obeyed by going to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went, not knowing where he was going.(Hebrews 11:8) Do you ever feel like Abraham? You know God is steering you a certain direction, but He won’t give you the specifics. God isn’t ignoring you if you don’t hear him...... He wants you to build your faith. If you love God and pursue him... you will know his heart, his word and ultimately His will for you. We don’t decide what we want and hope God is with us. We patiently uncover what He has already decided. TODAY: God is trustworthy to me and if I love Him in a mature way I become trustworthy to Him. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) Paper Sunday

For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with hands...but [He entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the very presence of God on our behalf. (Hebrews 9:24) Guilt can be a liar...it tells you to repent over and over for mistakes. When you are feeling good, Guilt is quick to remind you of where you have failed. There is always a grain of truth or even a lot of truth with Guilt, so it is hard to push back on this bully.... Jesus came down from the cross and humiliated the enemy and his hordes. He then went to heaven and made all petitions on our behalf before The Lord. Your forgiveness is a finished work, you simply need to say yes to it. TODAY: Guilt may be based on FACT, but forgiveness is the TRUTH of who you are in Christ! If anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He is the sacrifice that atones for our sinsand not only our sins but the sins of all the world. (1 John 2:1) Paper Sunday
