Morning Worship Celebration, p. 14 January 24, 2021 SUNG SENDING FORTH 3rd Sunday after Epiphany, Year B ++++++++++... Intercessory To God who welcomes all in love, let us pray for the good of the church and the concerns of those in need. (Your own individual prayers should be offered here for those closest to you, fsmily, friends and co-workers) Then conclude praying: God of every land and nation, you have created all people and you dwell among us in Jesus Christ. Listen to the cries of those who pray to you, and grant that, as we proclaim the greatness of your name, all people will know the power of love at work in the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Sisters and brothers, let us lift our hearts in faith to the one who hears all prayers and holds close all those in need: Holy God, you gather the whole universe into your radiant presence and continually reveal your Son as our Savior. Bring healing to all wounds, make whole all that is broken, speak truth to all illusion, and offer clarity in chaotic confusion, that all creation will see your glory and know your Christ. God of the prophets, you call us from evil to serve you. Fulfill in us your commonwealth of justice and joy, that the light of your presence may be revealed to all nations, to the glory of Jesus' name. Amen. ++++++++++ The following posts are the worship celebration for the Epworth and Granville, Avenue United Methodist Churches of Chicago. In Christ, you offer your redeeming love to every soul in every situation. So it is our greatest joy to be united by your Spirit in the community of your people, stretching throughout the generations, all around the world you love. We join our thanks and praise to the voices of all your saints, both in heaven and on earth, who worship and adore you, saying: All blessing and glory; all wisdom and thanksgiving; all honour and power belong to you, O God, this day and forever and ever! Amen. It is not because we fear you, O God, but because we love you and trust in your loving kindness, that we confess our sins together: God of courage and commitment, We confess that we have not followed the path you set before us. Discomfort and fear hold us back from fully embracing your gift of new life. Our anxieties prevent us from bearing witness to your love. Forgive us, O God.

MORNING WORSHIP page 3 ALL SAINTS DAY LITANY November 1, 2020 22nd Sunday after Pentecost ++++++++++++++++++++... Litany for All Saints Worship All Saints Day Litany We remember the great ancestors of our faith, from Abraham and Sarah, to Paul and Phoebe: Ancestors of the faith, we remember you. We remember the prophets and priests, the ministers and teachers who have taught us the way of God: Teachers of the faith, we remember you. We remember our grandparents and parents, aunts and uncles, those who have gone before us in our lifetime: Family of our faith, we remember you. We lift up the memories of children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives and parents whose lives ended too soon: Those close in our heart, we remember you. We lift up to You, O God, the names of those we have lost in this past year from our lives, knowing that they are with Your heart forever. As we read these names, we will pause after every name to remember, pray, and give thanks for their life. (Reading of the names of those who have died in the past year.) We celebrate the lives of those we have named, O God, and lift up many more names in our hearts. Family of God, we remember you, and we honor you. We know you are with us in the spirit of worship, and you will not be forgotten. We give thanks, O God, for all who have gone on to join with You beyond this life. We trust in the hope of resurrection and the promise of new life in Christ, and know that in our grief and celebration, O God, You are with us through it all, and we are not left alone. In the name of Christ, in whom love lives forever, we pray. Amen.
