[Español abajo] On Friday, June 5, the Sonoma County Health Officer issued a new Health Order that eases some public health restrictions on outdoor recreational... activities. Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks is excited to open recreational opportunities for our community! We are working quickly to implement the safety protocols required under the Health Order to open, as well as complete deferred maintenance at City parks and facilities and ensure appropriate staffing. PLEASE NOTE: City-operated recreation programs, classes, activities, events and park attractions, all city-organized events, all events at city-owned properties, and all special event permits, park permits and picnic reservations have been suspended through the end of March. Healthy recreation and life-saving skills like learning to swim are important for everyone! That's why this year we'll provide $16,000 in recreation scholarships to local families, helping to pay for swim lessons, day camps, lifeguard training and youth sports including t-ball and soccer! --- Applications are now being accepted. Applications for our Work Experience Program are now available and are due by 4/3. Teens ages 13-17 can learn valuable on-the-job skills through this program and can choose from a variety of interests. Click on the link below for more info and to download an application!

You may want to bring popcorn to your next event at Finley Community Center. The large auditorium now boasts a 22-foot-tall projection screen, making it as tall as some movie theater screens! It’s part of a new state-of-the-art system recently installed for community events. Rentals coordinator Jeanne Pugh provides a preview in this short video.

Thank you for your patience as city crews work to replace the damaged slide at Finley Community Park. The slide will remain closed until a new replacement slide can be installed.

We’re so excited to share that Finley Aquatic Center is getting a much-needed pool heater! Unfortunately, this means the facility will need to close Monday, January 13th through Friday, January 24th for installation. Your patience is much appreciated as we accomplish this work.
