Betatakin Ruin at the Navajo National Monument, AZ! Celebrating the 112th anniversary of the monument’s protection this March! The ruins here were last occupied around 1300 AD, but the canyon dwellings are still sacred to Native American tribes in the Southwest. Last week the temperature at Death Valley National Park was recorded at 130 degrees, which would make it the hottest spot on earth since 1913. Death Valley is hope to beautiful landscape, turbulent weather seasons, and surprisingly sturdy life that survives the extreme environment.
