It’s been 9 weeks since Solano County’s shelter-in-place order and, like many other organizations, we cancelled several of our Spring events to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. Included in these cancellations were several fundraisers that were meant to offset costs associated with hosting the Fil-Am Scholarship + Cultural Night. Unfortunately, because of the logistical challenges this presents, along with the challenges of COVID-19 and the realities that come w...ith living in the midst of a global pandemic, any momentum that our planning committee had been gaining since last November, was sadly lost. With that said, this is the official announcement that we are cancelling the 2020 Fil-Am Scholarship + Cultural Night, SALINLAHI: Growing Up Filipino-American. While our scholars will still be recognized and celebrated by the Fil-Am Community of FSV, Inc., it will not be in the venue or format for which we had originally planned. We are hopeful that we will be able to pick this up again at a future date, and wish our graduates and scholars the best as they celebrate their accomplishments and venture out into a new season.
