Hello colleagues- I wanted to bring your attention to these two items which both have impact on LTSS issues: 1. Opportunity to comments to DHCS re: network adequacy proposal. This DHCS proposal responds to the new provisions of the federal Medicaid Managed Care Regulations, which specify new requirements for states to develop network adequacy- including new standards for LTSS networks. Network adequacy is critical because it defines the standards that managed care plans... are required to adhere to in order to ensure individuals can access benefits, including LTSS (MSSP, CBAS and NF). The LTSS standards can be found starting on page 21. DHCS is seeking public comment on the proposed standards. Questions and comments should be submitted to [email protected] by February 28, 2017. 2. On February 28, the Sen/Assembly Health Committees are holding a joint hearing on the state’s implementation of the federal Medicaid Managed Care Regulations, which include important provisions on LTSS system issues (see attached for broad overview). The hearing is at 2 pm in room 4202 of the state capitol. There will be a brief overview of the LTSS components of the regs provided in testimony, but it is encouraged that members of the LTSS community also provide public comment on any of the related provisions.
