Fremont High School Alumni Foundation 11.10.2020

On behalf of the FHS Alumni foundation and myself, we can’t begin to express how heavy our hearts feel with current state of affairs. It has been a difficult season for all of us around the world. First, the pandemic has hit hardest in our Black and Brown community. Many of them whom are essential workers in the front lines working hard for their families such as ; nurses, farmers, truckers, in home care support staff , electricians , grocery clerks, and delivery workers. T...hen the recent events and video footage of George Floyd an innocent man whose life was taken away. There are many tragic stories such as his from years past whom have been racially profiled, because of the color of their skin. We feel the pain of our community, and we mourn the loss of every innocent victim. Let’s teach our youth to Rise and stay focus in pursuit of their dreams to build a better future for themselves and community. They are the voices of change. It is critical to teach our youth the importance of our history so history is never forgotten nor repeated again. To our youth on this platform ignite that fire within to push forth with Resilience and Determination. Be unstoppable by graduating and pursuing careers that will impact change in the streets of our neighborhoods. Become the next president, doctor, immigration lawyers, teacher and therapist. This is what creates a ripple effect for generations to come and your children will continue to make change by graduating with masters, and doctorate degrees. Continue to grow with compassion and love for all in our community. We stand stronger together. We impact change by supporting our efforts in our missions to help our community RISE. Let’s never forget and move forward to healing and bringing peace. Kobe Bryant said it best, We have a responsibility to help one another. In the words of Martin Luther king Jr., Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. (1963) Thank you to each of you for your commitment to change through peaceful protests in memory of all whom we’ve lost through social injustices. Thank you to all of you In your work in our community. We also appreciate your continuous support in our work to inspire our youth to Thrive through higher education. Respectfully Neyda Yaneth CEO/Founder
