Baby Boy !!! I haven’t been posting the acupuncture babies lately! I seriously need to get on the IG posting train. Even if I forget to post anything else on here, I’m going to post the baby photos so that the women who feel like they’ve lost their hope can see that pregnancy and a baby is always possible. I’ve treated this sweet little boy’s Mama for several years. She struggled with hypothyroidism and unexplained infertility for years. She and her husband did 8 roun...ds of IUI’s at multiple clinics, and IVF was their next step. They were also starting the process to foster-to-adopt. Except whadya know?! They ended up getting pregnant on their own last fall!! His mom had been working with me consistently for a couple of years, and then she had started some very powerful reiki sessions last year that seemed to shift something inside of her. She had been TTC for 4 years when she finally fell pregnant with him, and she turned 40 during her pregnancy. Her pregnancy was a dream, other than the fact that it coincided with a global pandemic . Little baby boy was a little impatient, too. He was ready to meet his mom and dad so he came about 1 month early. He’s healthy as can be, and the family of 3 is happy and perfect. I always tell my patients, you don’t know how or when you will get your baby, but you will. You will. We don’t understand how The Universe/ God works, or why things happen in the order that they do, but it always works out in the end. His Mama is an incredible, smart, and hilarious woman. This little dude has a very fun life ahead of him. #fertility #acupuncture #acupuncturebaby #acupuncturebabies #fertilityacupuncture #fertilityacupuncturist #ttccommunity #iuisuccess #ivfjourney #ivf #ivfsuccess #ivfandacupuncture #acupunctureandivf #naturalfertility #sandiegoacupuncture #sandiegoacupuncturist #ttc #ttcaftermiscarriage #sandiegofertility #ttcsisters #acupunctureforfertility #pcos #pcosfertility #ttcjourney #integrativefertility #integrativehealth #sandiego #naturalfertility #fertilityacupuncturesandiego

COVID-19 Closure Update Dear Patients, I have decided to close down Bloom Acupuncture & Fertility per the Governor’s Shelter In Place orders. As much as I would like to believe I am essential, I don’t know if the state would see it that way!... I was hesitant to make this official decision because I want to be in the office treating my patients, but it’s clear that the best thing we can do for each other and for our families is to stay home and eliminate contact with people outside of our individual family units. The sooner we all comply, the faster we will be able to get back to life. Right now, I can not predict when I will be able to open my doors and see your dear faces again; I am going to wait and see how the state handles things over the next couple of weeks and decide then. In the meantime, if you’d like to support me and Bloom Acupuncture & Fertility, you could take a moment and write reviews on both Yelp and Google. Many of my new patients find me online, and the more 5 star reviews I have, the more it will help me to get my business rolling once this quarantine is over. I am still selling supplements and herbs, and I am happy to drop them in the mail to you if you need anything during this time. I am also continuing to run a prepay discount until I am able to open again. If you prepay for 10 visits, I am offering a 10% discount on the treatment rate. This is ON TOP OF any other discounted rate you already qualify for. If you need anything, want to Skype, or need a phone consult, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. As difficult as this situation is, I hope you are finding the silver lining in slowing down, connecting with family, and finding gratitude in all that we still have. In Health, Tamara

Happy New Year’s Eve!!! Wow, I haven’t posted here in AWHILE! Since my practice Bloom Acupuncture & Fertility started a year ago, I have legitimately had zero time to post on IG. BTW, does anyone want to be my social media marketing manager ?! There seemed to be a lot of pregnancies in the past few months at my clinic, and it got me to wondering just how many pregnancies there were in 2019. I’ve never looked at and tallied stats like this before. I was pleasantly surp...rised to see how fertile my patients were in 2019! 34 pregnancies works out to 1 pregnancies every 1.53 weeks. Not bad!! I was also interested to see that the majority of the conceptions were without ART. And, to be clear, these are the pregnancies that made it past the 8 week U/S. I will no doubt be keeping stats again next year. Because I’m a fairly competitive person by nature , I will be working hard to beat this number in 2020 . #2019 #fertility #acupuncture #fertilityacupuncture #fertilityacupuncturist #ttccommunity #iuisuccess #ivfjourney #ivf #ivfsuccess #ivfandacupuncture #acupunctureandivf #naturalfertility #sandiegoacupuncture #sandiegoacupuncturist #ttc #ttcaftermiscarriage #sandiegofertility #ttcsisters #acupunctureforfertility #pcos #pcosfertility #ttcjourney #ttcafterloss #integrativefertility #integrative-health #sandiego #naturalfertility #bloomacupuncture&fertility

I haven’t been posting regularly because I’ve been so busy with my new clinic. It’s been a great few months at the new office, but I’m finding it hard to post! It has been a great week for pregnancies, though, so I needed to share. ... I want to talk about doing the real work. There were 3 () pregnancy tests this week, and all of them are amazing. These are women who’ve done the work. They’ve come in for regular acupuncture treatments (one of them for years!) and followed the supplement and dietary plans I made for them. One patient was told she could only conceive with donor eggs and has been TTC for years. Turns out, she and her husband were able to pull it off on their own . Another woman was gearing up for her 2nd IVF retrieval cycle because her RE said she and her husband had a 1% chance of conceiving own. I respectfully disagreed. They both came in for regular treatments and took their supplements. Turns out they won’t need to be using their banked embryos or do another retrieval because they also just conceived on their own . And the final patient, in her early 40’s, made acupuncture a regular part of her regimen and she and her husband conceived on their very last IUI cycle . Patients always ask me how long it will take to conceive. Honestly, I don’t know, but the more regular patients are with their treatments and the closer they adhere to the plan I create for them, the better their chances. In some cases it takes a few weeks. In most cases it takes a few months. And sometimes it takes a couple years to reach the goal. There’s no shortcut to healing the body from the inside out.

Ovarian reserve is a topic that comes up a lot in my office. It’s a measurement that significantly determines the type of protocol a woman will undergo at a fertility clinic. It is often used to describe egg quality, but the fact is, ovarian reserve is not the same as egg quality, and ovarian reserve does not DICTATE reproductive potential. It’s important to understand what ovarian reserve means...and what it doesn’t mean. You can read all about it in my blog on my website bloomacu.com. Link in my profile.

The rule of thumb is to begin preparing for an IUI or IVF retrieval cycle at least 3 months in advance. This is because it takes about 90 days, on average, for the full benefits of treatments and supplements/herbs to fully take effect. However, no matter how far out you are from a cycle, acupuncture will always be beneficial. If you start just before, or even during a cycle, acupuncture will improve blood flow to the ovaries and uterus. It will also do wonders for stress and anxiety. I am a big believer in things flowing the way they are meant to. If you feel drawn to incorporating acupuncture into your IUI or IVF protocol, there is not 1 right time to begin. Come in whenever you’re ready.

It’s cold and flu season again, and one of my favorite immune boosters is always VitD. There’s tons of research showing the link between VitD levels and immunity. People with higher serum VitD levels are less likely to contract a URI. But, just as important is the link between VitD levels and fertility . The higher a woman’s VitD levels, the greater chance she has of a successful pregnancy. I’ve written all about it in my new (an 1st!) Fertility Chick blog post on my website. Check the link in the bio to read more .
