Hello everyone! I have some great news. The Fresno Unified School District and the Fresno Teachers Association have finally reached an agreement; and called off the strike. Please read the following letter from Paul Beare, Dean of Fresno State’s Kremen School of Education. Highlights: During a potential strike, Fresno State’s Krem...en School of Education will: 1. Pull all student teachers from FUSD classes. 2. Discourage student teachers from participating as substitutes. 3. Institute a mandatory teach-in to provide students an education on the labor movement and the issues surrounding educational strikes. Teachers should be encouraged that this valued educational institution recognized the severity of the situation. We share the institution’s concern about the welfare of our students and community, and hope that the district addresses our concerns so a strike is avoided.
