The U16+ Open Race has been rescheduled for February 9th - February 12th at Squaw Valley. THIS IS NOT A QUALIFIER. And the weather takes one more race down this weekend. The Snow Summit race is being postponed until Feb 13-14, 2021. We are thankful for all of this new snow!!!

Due to the incoming storms the Squaw/Alpine U16+ race Jan 29-Feb 1 is being postponed. New dates will be available by the end of this weekend. The U14+ races at Mammoth Jan 30-31 have been postponed to Feb 6-7. The Snow Summit race this weekend is a go!

The race announcement is now posted for the U14 Slaloms at Sugar Bowl, Feb 5-8, 2021. Event Online Registration will open Saturday, January 23rd. Final bib order date is Friday, January 29th.

Reminder that bibs are delivered to your program, not directly to athletes. Majority of programs have received their teams bibs over the past couple of days. You can always check the bib assignment sheet linked on each age class page to look up your athletes bib #. Thank you.

The Western Region has moved to Zonal racing for the months of January and February. This can create some confusion on quotas and selections so it is extremely important to communicate directly with your coaches! Selections are now posted, link on the U19 Schedules page on the Alyeska line. Coaches will need to confirm all athletes by 5:00pm Saturday, January 9th. Registration for these events are open on the US Ski and Snowboard events online registration portal.... Questions can be directed to your coaches please.

Far West Ski Association Athletic Scholarship Program 2020-2021 Far West Ski Association would like to announce that it is now accepting applications for athletic scholarships for the 2020-2021 season. The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist junior USSA alpine racers (2nd-year U16 to U21) in the funding of their racing endeavors. Individuals are selected on the basis of financial need, athletic performance, academics, and community service. Scholarships range from $750 to $1,500 per year. Applications are due by June 30, 2020 and awarded by September 30, 2020 and can be found by visiting our website at www.fwsa.org. End of year trophies are being shipped out, and it will just take some time to get through over 300 trophies to be shipped. Please submit a picture of your athlete and their trophy to the Far West Swoosh so that we can share in our virtual awards ceremonies. Congratulations to each of you on a successful season.

Today we Congratulate our U14 California Challenge Series Overall Season Standing athletes! This is calculated by all 6 Ca Challenge Series races, where qualifying for U14 Regional Champs was best 4 results of those 6 races. Reminder that your trophies will be mailed to you over the next few weeks and then you can post on the FW Swoosh you and your trophy.
