From the Santa Cruz County Office of Education: These events in our nation’s Capitol have some members of our community, especially our students, frightened, confused, and upset. Our teachers and administrators are looking at how to establish a safe space for discussion and learning about these still evolving events today and in the weeks to follow. We are encouraging students expressing fear or distress about what they witnessed to reach out to their... teacher, principal or counselor for support. We are also thinking about the questions parents/guardians might have about how to talk to students about these events. We would like to share some resources to help you with these at-home conversations. https://santacruzcoe.org//1-7-2021-Letter-to-Community-re_
It’s not uncommon to experience the winter blues, a slight mood shift or sluggishness due to colder weather and less sunshine. But seasonal depression has a more significant impact on your daily functioning. https://www.huffpost.com//signs-dealing-seasonal-depressio
In Santa Cruz County more than 70% of all cases are from people who contract COVID-19 from someone in their household who attended a social gathering. Stop the ...spread by staying home this holiday season to keep yourself, your family, and your community safe. You may think that your social bubble is small, but it’s not as small as you think. You’re not just at risk of COVID-19 from people in your inner circle, but also from anyone else they have been in contact with. For more information, visit: www.santacruzhealth.org/coronavirus
Honoring Ama & Sacred Grief Workshop "When we grieve what we miss, we are praising what we love. We are praising the life we have been given in order to love." ...Martin Prechtel About this Event: "Grief can be the garden of compassion.
