2 nights ago as we were sailing into Mauritius we heard a Mayday call and responded since the Coast Guard didn't have a clue.. We never saw them even when we sailed into port after rescuing the 8 passengers from the sinking boat. We just happened to be finishing up our 3 day passage from Rodrigues when the mayday call went out.
