Our 8th grade students had the opportunity to have their names called, receive their Certificate of Promotion, and shake Mr. Jackson's hand this week and this one-of-a-kind walk through Promotion.

Seventeen jittery 4th grade spelling finalist took the stage this morning for the 4th grade spelling bee. After their nerves settled, they went on to spell words such as "mediocre" and "perplexed" before the winner, Maya K. was crowned champion. Everett K. and Khoa N. finished second, and Dia J. and Reza M. finished third.
Fourth grade students have been studying missions all year as part of their study into California history. Today, at flag salute, each student presented a fact about their mission. Charlotte M., Clayton K., and Aiden L. won the 100% club drawing for their respective grade levels. Cameron T., Madison G., Ivy L,. and Jade W. were recognized to exhibiting outstanding learner profile traits.
Mrs. Bivens' class presented a Valentine-themed flag salute today. Also on hand for flag salute was California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO). CASTO was at flag salute to recognized Clayton K., Nicole W., and Eden C. Clayton, Nicole, and Eden swept all three categories of the regional CASTO poster contest. This poster contest asks students to make posters emphasizing bus safety. Each student won $25. Eden was additionally recognized as creating the winning poster for all of California. Eden will be recognized in Sacramento and also won an additional $125 and a class party! Eason W., Marissa H., and Analia B. won the 100% club drawings for their respective grade levels. Karter N., Henry T., Raymond S., Amy S., and Zawadi N. were recognized for exhibiting outstanding IB learner profile traits this week.
Congratulations to all of our hard-working students that achieved Honor Roll and Director’s Honor Roll. Students were recognized at assemblies this week for successfully navigating their studies to earn high marks! We are proud of all of you! Additionally, we honored students in elementary that exemplified one of the IB Learner profiles. The learner profiles are Balanced, Caring, Communicator, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Open-Minded, Principled, Reflective, Risk-Taker, and Thinker.
