To my dear family, friends, clients, followers, and beyond - I’m writing this bittersweet message to let you know that I have gratefully accepted a Creative Director position with a Napa based winery - @onehope . For those of you that know me, and how much I love , it should come as no surprise that this is an absolute DREAM job. This decision did not come lightly as I love Fairly Modern with every bone in my body, but the universe had something else in mind and I’m incredib...ly excited for the next chapter of my life. I could never thank you all enough for the referrals, encouragement, the room to experiment and let it take on a life of its own. To my dear friends who let me tackle their house projects and become a frequent squatter (@amelialucilleparris and Kurt @sabrina.livestoeat and @evan_ames ) while I was trying to run this biz in two cities, opening your homes, sharing your personal life, and making me an addition to your family. I will NEVER have enough words to thank you and am so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. I’ve learned a lot of things about business owning (that it ain’t for the weak), but what I learned about myself is the greatest lesson of all. We are all capable of so much more than we ever imagined. I hope you continue to follow along as this account will never die. It will just be a little more personal, inspirational, and be filled with a bit more wine ;) Cheers! More in comments. @onehope

Working the weekend after a verrrryyy ill week coming home from Mexico. Such a bummer to end the trip on that note, but Salyulita was so dreamy and it gives me an excuse to go back...with a much bigger suitcase for all of my finds. We have a lot of projects wrapping up including the #dixondiggscabana Check our my stories to see some of the details and a sneak peek of the approved plan
Falling in love with Sayulita Nayarit, Mexico
An overdue mini-makeover to my front patio over the holidays! If you’re a renter and have a less than ideal outdoor space (this space was used to store trash cans and was completely concrete), consider investing in deck or grass tiles that easily clip together and can be taken with you if you move. Available at IKEA or Amazon! For the plants, use an mix of pots at different heights and color for an organic look. Fill the bottom of tall planters with foam or lightweight material so they can easily be transported or moved @ Los Angeles, California
After 4+ years of living in LA, I still have a hard time investing too much time and money into a rental, BUT I’ve learned some great tricks along the way to personalize my space without a huge investment. Wanna see more posts like this? .... Tip #1: When painting your front door, go for a sample size! It’s a very easy transformation for under $5 with minimal waste (if any) or need to store extra paint. This is Versailles Rose from @behrpaint @homedepot and I’m in looovveee.
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing YOUR world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, but most importantly, you’re doing something. - Neil Gaiman If you’re back to work today, I hope you’re making a lot of mistakes
A year ago, I would never have imagined how transformative this year would be. It was painful and beautiful. Full of love and loneliness. I said forever goodbyes to people, places, and things that I never thought I could (or would). Boy, I grieved. I grew. Through the ashes of this wild fire, I met some incredible people who have taught me to keep fighting like hell, to be myself, to keep giving, keep loving. To go with the grain of my nature to help others in need. To surround myself with only those who share the same respect. To go with my gut. To be supportive, kind. A better, badass me. I’m hopeful for 2019 and welcome it with new opportunities, friendships, love, creativity and adventures. My wish for you all is to do the same. Sending all my best for you in 2019. Happy new year!
We have some funnnn projects happening at FM these days, but I have a real big crush on this one Garden shed to outdoor bar/cabana in the works! @ Los Angeles, California
