The support of these organizations speaks to what quite a few folks think of the three candidates. Your choice is your voice. Make your vote count.

California’s educators want to remind you that quality public schools make a stronger California for all of us.
We’ve been working hard to make school buildings safer because no one wants to be back in the classroom more than teachers.
We want to be back in the classroom with our students, but staying safe is the most important thing we can do right now.
Stopping off in Dixon to help their educators ensure a safe learning environment this fall!

Funny because it's true. @primarytechie
Every student deserves a clean slate.
Teachers at Suisun Elementary kill two birds with one stone by spreading the message of "Be Kind" with orange shirts, which show their pride in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified Teachers Association.
Louise Craig (third from right) receives a rousing round of applause after being named as Teacher of the Year in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District on Thursday evening. Craig was one of 14 teachers honored as Site Teachers of the Year at the Governing Board meeting and then was surprised by her selection as the district's best.

Here is an update from Organizing chairperson Dan Pozzesi: Choices choices. We are all faced with important choices throughout our careers. Many of our members have chosen to move on to new positions in other districts, change careers or retire. For those of us returning, rest assured your FSUTA leadership will continue to represent your interests in an open and transparent way. You have spoken, we have listened. Your FSUTA bargaining team represents our membership and you ar...e clearly against management restructuring our daily schedules with management in control of the agenda for the majority of the weeks. What is clear from management’s proposal is the time isn’t for collaboration and you have rejected it nearly unanimously. They will claim we are against collaboration. You’re not against collaboration. In fact, nearly all of us are for collaborating when necessary and beneficial. They will claim you aren’t participating in professional development opportunities. You are. They will claim it’s just the union. YOU are the union. So now management has a choice. Do they make a real effort to change the management culture that has resulted in a near unanimous rejection of their proposal or do they continue pushing their faulty agenda against the wishes of the teachers of this district? Are they willing to collaborate with their teachers or continue to impose a top down, non-collaborative management style? What does it say about management if they do not consider the input of the professionals in the classrooms? Good and effective managers listen to their employees. Good management provides employees with what they need to succeed and they work to create employee buy-in. Let’s be crystal clear. If something is effective and efficient with our students, teachers will use the tool or participate in a program voluntarily. Our Governing Board also has choices. Do they make a change or do we continue down this path of heavy handed, top-down management? This is a path that has led to high employee turnover, flat and declining scores as measured on the California School Dashboard, and a disastrous lack of employee buy-in as shown by our survey results. The paradigm shift that management and the Governing Board claim to want to occur needs to happen with management. The question is does our current management have the capability to change or do we need a change in management? We need open and transparent management that focuses on allowing us to innovate and gives us the time to do our jobs in a safe and supportive environment. The choice is clear and completely up to the Governing Board. Perhaps it’s time they choose to make a change to our executive management team. The choices that are made will impact what direction we take as an association in the fall. Stay tuned and be ready. It’s going to be interesting.
Write-in votes determined three new Members at Large who will join the FSUTA Executive Board. Keith Aguilar, Karen Hall, Amanda Horel and Art Sullivan accepted the positions after being informed they had received write-in votes. Sullivan had been a Member at Large but did not to seek reelection. Alex Diaz was the only incumbent in the race for four Member at Large positions and retained his. Also winning reelection were President Nancy Dunn and Vice President Katie Molina. Audrey Jacques won as the only candidate for Corresponding Secretary after serving as a Member at Large. Stephanie Cobb (below) won a three-year term as a State Council Representative, and Christina Kling won a two-year term.
