It's MIndful Monday! Take some time out in your day to slow down, pause, and connect with the breath. #ECCFresno #BlackTherapists #BIPOCTherapy #Telehealth #Teletherapy #MentalHealth #BlackMentalHealthMatters
If ECC had a slogan, this would be it. #ECCFresno #BlackTherapists #BIPOCTherapy #Telehealth #Teletherapy #MentalHealth #BlackMentalHealthMatters
Having a community is important for mental health. People need (the right) people in their corner. Therapy is great, but we can only be there for you 1 hour (possibly 2) / week. Who do you lean on on those other 23 hours or 6 days in your week? At ECC we believe in building up natural support systems, and for this reason, I found this this fun article to give you some helpful hints on building up your tribe! #Siswevegotyou! https://www.theladders.com//how-to-find-your-tribe-in-10-s. #ECCFresno #BlackTherapist #BIPOCTherapy #Telehealth #Teletherapy #MentalHealth
What would it be like to celebrate more of your wins rather than beat yourself up for the mistakes? Today is winning Wednesday, so take some time today to reflect on some of the good you made happen this week! #ECCFresno #BlackTherapist #BIPOCTherapy #Telehealth #Teletherapy #MentalHealth

Adjusting to change is difficult even under the most expected circumstances. This pandemic is anything but expected and has brought more stress and more changes than anyone could have imagined for 2020. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and I want everyone to know that it is okay if you can't do this on your own. You don't have to. It's okay to ask for help. Sis, we've got you. #ECCFresno #BipocTherapy #mentalhealth #telehealththerapy #blacktherapist

Our words really do matter and make a difference in how we feel about ourselves, how we experience ourselves, and how we relate to ourselves. Today, take that first step toward healing your relationship with you, by being mindful of the language that you use as you speak to or about yourself. Choose words of kindness, love, and compassion and words that empower you, rather than words that beat you down. Choose words that speak life over you, and notice a difference in the small, subtle shifts you will start to feel as the days and weeks go by. You are worth your love and kindness too! #ECCFresno #Selfcompassion #BipocTherapy #mentalhealth #telehealththerapy #blacktherapist
Hello Everybody! My name is Jaryn Warren, and I am the owner and the clinical director at ECC. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Expressive Arts Facilitator, yada yada yada ( I won’t bore you with all of the details, go to the website to learn more! https://expressionscc.com/meet-the-team/ )...and trained in Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT). To sum me up as a therapist: creativity, art, mindfulness, self- compassion , **hope**, ...humor and skills building are my jam! I am passionate about helping people cope with chronic illness, and heal their body images and relationships with food. I really do consider myself a hope dealer, because when you walk away from my sessions, my goal is to get you more in touch with your strengths and values, and help you see your concerns from a slightly different angle than what you were previously aware! ***Now to the fun stuff*** In my free time, you will find me twirling around my house in my hula hoop (s), painting on my canvases , or catch me with my head in the books studying, as I pursue my Doctorate in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. Although, I am not accepting new clients at the moment, I hope to lead some groups in the near future on body image healing and Mindfulness/Mindful Eating. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions that I can answer, and please check out the other ECC therapists here: https://expressionscc.com/meet-the-team/! Once again, welcome to Expressions Counseling. #eccfresno #bipoctherapy #telehealththerapy

Positive affirmation/ self-affirmation practice can help decrease stress, improve engagement in healthy behaviors, and can strengthen and boost motivation, gratitude and/ or optimism! Here are a few affirmations to get you started! Happy Monday!
Feeling down? Step outside and get some sunlight! 10 minutes a day may be able to fight those blues away, and spring is the perfect time to soak in those rays. https://www.rtor.org//07/26/how-light-improves-mental-hea/
Everybody talks about self -care but no one ever tells us what that even means! Well look no further. Self- Care means intentionally engaging in any activity that nourishes and refreshes you. Questions to ask yourself: Does this activity make me smile or bring me joy? Does this activity help me relax? Is what I’m doing promoting better physical health or wellbeing? Is what I’m doing making me feel better about myself or moving me closer toward my values? These are some great steps to get you started in the right in direction. #ExpressionsCounselingCenter #ECCFresno #SelfCare
Everybody makes mistakes. The question is, how many of us have learned how to take ownership for our mistakes in a way that can move us closer to decreasing conflict and improving /repairing our relationships? Great advice for all of us, young and old, alike, to keep in mind as we navigate through friendships, marriages, relationships, parenting etc. Happy Saturday! #Expressionscounselingcenter #ECC #mentalhealthawareness #FresnoPsychotherapy
