I just thought of a new Facebook challenge. Whatever good you did for yourself and others yesterday, how much more can you do today? How many real honest, human connections can you make, while still staying at home and respecting everyone's need for social distancing? Without getting into fluff and hot air, how many empowering posts can you make? How can you validate others for their spreading of hope and togetherness? How can you counterbalance the fear that some feel due to... our current global situation? How can you create more hope for the future? How can you still do the things that bring you joy and how can you share this joy with others? I think you get my point by now. If you want to comment below that is fine, especially if it creates a juggernaut of empowerment to do more good. These questions are meant to be rhetorical, to awaken you to the positive in your life, and to help you take action. Lastly, I've been listening to positive, motivational TED Talks. The last woman said that statically people don't do their new activity unless they take some action unless that action is in 5 seconds of the new thought. (Writing down the action on a to-do list does count as taking action.) This post is the first of my broad actions. Please take action right away. We all need it. See more

The best happy birthday you could give me to is to support my families in need. There has been a major fire in Ventura county. See this link for details. http://readyventuracounty.org/ There is a lot of destruction and a lot of safe people as well. It is not all bad and yet there is a strong need for help. Within my Exponential Tutoring families I have 4 families who have lost their homes. One of which has an animal refuge where over of the animals have been saved. The pe...ople are safe and need help rebuilding their lives. My personal donations are 20% of my income to help these families. Separately I am collecting monetary donations that will go directly to these families as they rebuild their lives. Will you join me in making a difference for them? As challenging as this time is, I know the power of our community generously coming together to take care of each other makes all the difference. Moving forward together, overwhelmed by gratitude, and thankful for our safety, Paula. Storms make trees take deeper roots. -Dolly Parton I have heard that going through go fund me gets into complications as to fees out of the money. I have venmo and paypal. Nothing else is coming through these areas so I will be able to make sure that 100% of the money goes to these people. Today is an awesome day. It is also just another day at the office. I just met a 7 year old girl. I permanently changed the way she does math in 30 minutes as well as gave her dad tools to help her while at home. She has been having a hard time with adding. She counts on her fingers. Once she runs out of fingers she hasn’t known what it do. Her parents are compassionate and smart however they have not been able to break down this barrier. ... She hesitantly came into my office, looking down and not smiling. She came because her dad brought her and didn’t even really understand why she was there. After 5 minutes I had her opening up and smiling. I really got her attention when told her I wanted to break the rules that don’t hurt anyone. Like let’s change around the furniture, make a table on the floor and write on christmas wrapping paper with colorful pens. Before we knew it she was having fun doing math. She quickly decided that the way she has been adding isn’t the best way at all times. She wanted to learn a new, easy way. All of a sudden she was adding double digit numbers harder than the ones she was getting in class. That was just 30 minutes of my day. To help her father, I assesed her learning style and way that she views the world. I then gave her dad specific directions as to what to do with her so she would more quickly learn anything, including math. The same tools also can help them both understand each other, thus strengthening a father/daughter relationship. <3 She is a new student and I don’t know when I will see her again. To me, no news is good news. No news means to me that I just empowered him to help her at home. It is amazing to me to touch people’s lives like this and empower them to go do whatever is next.
