Incident Description A Black Range Rover was traveling down 22nd street towards Orange from Newport Blvd , when the vehicle struck a White/gray Husky, hitting h...er so hard that it ripped the front passenger Molding cladding cover completely off. The vehicle stopped for a split second then took off. The driver did not get out of the car or stop to render aide and basically left the dog In the road to die. The Vehicle was a 2014-2019 RANGE ROVER SPORT L494. The impact was so hard that a neighbor heard a loud bang, then a dog crying. So he ran outside to help and was able to pick the dog up safely on the curb and a passerby stopped to render aide and rushed her to the hospital. The dog suffered a shattered spine and torn spinal cord leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. The car part was found in the street with the dogs fur attached to it. So, if anyone sees, or has seen this vehicle(missing front passenger molding) this is probably our person. A police report has been made. There has been reporting thru database in an effort to see if anyone has ordered this part or have already repaired it . We have witnesses that are coming forward with any information that may help in finding this vehicle. All neighbors with security cameras have been notified to check what they may have captured. Hopefully a license plate. SO MY SUGGESTION TO THE DRIVER IF YOU ARE ON HERE, OR IF SOMEONE ON HERE KNOWS THIS PERSON, OR PERSON /VEHICLE THAT MATCHES THIS DESCRIPTION, TURN YOURSELF IN, OR TURN THEM IN. This was a 50lb dog. It could have been someone’s child. They knew they hit something or someone and fled, without a thought. DRIVER: promise you will be caught, so turn yourself in.
