Grieving at the loss of this family’s farm. We had the privilege to shear their animals for their petting zoo portion. Prayers for the Riley’s as they try and recover.

For all those customers who live above Clovis and affected by the fires, here is a source for you guys to get your animals out and to a safe place. We are sending prayer for those affected and please don’t resist leaving for your safety. Go when they say to evacuate. Fires are not a force to be messed with. Stay safe!... Hello fellow friends, customers, and general followers! Here is an update as the summer is rolling in and our phone is blowing up. We know the heat is coming in and that your animals need to be shorn. We are doing our best to get through our list of current clients, new inquires, and scheduling trips in order of fairness. We ask that you be patient with us as as we try and get through everyone. Sometimes we are forgetful and don’t reply back right away. If that happens, we a...re not ignoring you. Just shoot us a text or call to remind us and we promise we will fit you in. If there is an emergency with your animal needing shearing, call the vet first. Then call us. We will do our best to get your way if in dire need. Thank you for trusting us to handle your animals and we hope this shearing season is best one yet. Owner and Operaters Kelsey & Kurren

Goats got their hoof trimmed and Luke had a good haircut yesterday! Getting his summer body ready ! Thanks to Kelsey of Ewe-nique Livestock Services, coming al...l the way from Bakersfield ! They did a great job and fast! If you want to help us sponsor Luke, our Angora goat, press the donate button or go to our website backbaytrc.org to donate. We have to shear him 2-3 times a year (cost us $100 each time) and his wool is cleaned, spined and knitted by the mom of one of our students ! Thank you, and stay safe See more

This is one of our regular customers we do every few months. Irish Rose is up to 13 Saanens and counting. They are Milking them all by hand currently but hoping to get a new milk machine soon to lighten the load. Still has 2 more to kid. If you’re interested in a kid, they will be selling them and a few yearlings.

What’s been happening with Ewe-Nique since the pandemic erupted. We participated in a 4-H Field Day clinic in San Diego and helped some kids learn tips on showing ans handling their lambs. Also tested their knowledge on body parts which is essential for showmanship questions. We also did some hoof trims on our regular clients in the area that were due. We were schedule to do a shearing demo at Ag day at Fresno Chaffee Zoo but it was cancelled. ... Also scheduled to judge King’s 4-H fair and it also got cancelled. BUT no need to be disappointed. This too shall pass and we’ll move on with our lives.

ATTENTION Southern California 4-H market animal showman, here is an opportunity for you to gain some knowledge in a few different species before fair comes around and you hit the show ring. Come get prepared on showmanship and fitting your animal. Lots of awesome and experienced people who want to teach you how to be successful with your project.
