Today is National Mother Goose Day. The mere mention of Mother Goose Rhymes elicits emotions from one end of the spectrum to the other. Some feelings are warm a...nd happy and take us back to a time of innocence while others feel the rhymes were freaky and scary! The rhymes originated in the mid to late 1700’s and I suspect made sense to the children of that era. Over 700 rhymes have been published in a vast number of books throughout the years. The book shown here is well used. It was read to my children, grandchildren and over 200 additional children I cared for throughout my years as a family childcare provider.
