Faith over Fear (part 2) Yesterday, I spent most of my day pouring over spreadsheets and conference calling with my various consultants to talk about the impending doom of the corona-crisis over my mini real estate empire. I would be lying if self-pity wasn’t one of many of emotions I felt throughout the day. In the evening I gained some perspective by reading to Mila and Zeko, and realized that Zeko doesn’t care what my current spreadsheet looks like. Then we settled down ...to watch a movie, Hacksaw Ridge, and God proceeded to take apart my shallow universe and remind me (once again) to live and/or die with courage and to stand firmly in Him, no matter how daunting the current situation appeared to be. IF I choose to rely on Him, then HE WILL carry me through these circumstances for HIS glory. I hate war movies but sometimes God uses unique tools to remind us of how HE can do ALL things if we truly trust Him. See more

Hi Ethos family! A friend of mine shared with me yesterday to Take care of the things that are important to God and let God take care of the things that are important to you. Profound words in this profound time! As you are at home with the family it’s easy to dismiss this time and be itching to get back to normal. ... My encouragement to you is, for this season at home, make the time with your family your new normal. Remember, your spouse and kids will remember this Corona-quarantine for the rest of their lives! Make it memorable and make it substantial! Lead by example! Be the parent/spouse/sibling that you are supposed to be. Be a man or woman of excellent character. Be 100 percent present for your family and really talk to themeven your teenagers! Do things together and not just be separate but in the same physical space. Invest in your relationships and work through the challenging topics as a couple or as a family. Reach out to others who are in need. Either physically, economically, emotionally or spiritually. Everyone needs a true friend in these trying times. And if you need help or someone to talk to, we are always here for you! We can’t choke you on the mats (yet) but we are just a phone call away! Hello Ethos family, After considerable research, seeking wise counsel from other leaders in the BJJ community, discussion and prayer on the issue of the Corona Virus, we have decided to temporarily cease all classes at Ethos until March 30th (2 weeks) for the safety of our students, their loved ones and the greater community. This decision does not come lightly, but your safety and the safety of your family is our highest priority. We consider our students to be family.... It is never an easy decision to voluntarily separate ourselves from our extended family, but it became abundantly clear that your safety necessitated immediate, drastic action in at the overabundance of caution. Secondly, as leaders in the community, we felt it necessary to lead and not simply respond to this virus as the issue continues to grow. We have something special here at Ethosits our sense of community. It includes great jiu jitsu, but the people are what make Ethos so unique. After the training, do not leave any of your belongings behind, wipe down EVERYTHING you touch to help us ... (We will maintain a sanitized environment by wiping down all surfaces) 3. We kindly ask that if you are feeling sick or have a fever or cough (flu like symptoms), please stay home. We want to maintain a safe environment for kids and adults to train. We will be encouraging anyone who comes into the gym sick to go home. We appreciate all your cooperation and understanding. We have students with loved ones that have a compromised immune and we seek to also keep them safe. 4. Please do not train with open wounds, cuts or scratches. 5. Trim your finger and toe nails.
