Should I sell now? If the time is right for you, the time to sell is now. If a seller’s personal and financial circumstances help make them comfortable pulling the trigger, then selling in today’s ‘new norm’ can prove fruitful.... Housing demand is high, as homes in California were selling quickly in February with minimal discounts. Plus, there is currently a dearth of homes available for sale with pending sales down and active listings falling by more than 20 percent in recent months. Therefore, in terms of market fundamentals, sellers are poised to sell their homes quickly and near to their full asking price. We do caution our seller clients that they should balance these positive market trends against the unknown impacts of a worsening coronavirus outbreak like economic uncertainty and the potential for recessionary job losses, as well as the risks of infection during the physical process of selling their home that come from open houses, listing appointments,and other personal interactions. The bottom line: California’s chronically undersupplied housing market should keep some upward pressure on home prices as demand far outstrips available housing supply.

Sometimes people ask why they should use a Realtor. The California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, as well as local real esta...te boards, keep Realtors up to date on the laws, trends in real estate, the market and help change the laws to benefit homeowners. They also hold Realtors accountable. Realtors must abide by a Code of Ethics. Holding a real estate license is a privilege. Holding a Broker's license is an even greater privilege and responsibility. Our job is to educate you, the client, and keep you informed of your transaction all the way from beginning to end.

An example of what the California Association of Realtors is doing: AB 1020 (Irwin) State Housing Agency: Cabinet Level Secretary - This bill seeks to create a ...state Housing Agency, with a Cabinet-level Secretary, charged with overseeing activities related to housing. A new Housing Agency would help to focus the state’s efforts to solve the state’s housing supply crisis, while the Secretary of Housing would provide the Governor with a resource to oversee and to interact with professional entities, both governmental and non-governmental, that play a role in the housing market. This bill died in committee, however, C.A.R. has reintroduced this measure as AB 2506 (Irwin). Status: Assembly Appropriations Committee
