David, says that he is thirsty for God just as if he were in a desert. I’ve been in a desert. I have been hiking in the desert. Maybe you haven’t been but I’m sure you have seen pictures. The pictures show lots and lots of sand, no green grass, no trees, not much of anything but sand. Imagine that you are in that desert. Your lips are dry. Hot air surrounds you. You need something to drink! All your thoughts are about water. You think about finding water. You wonder if you co...uld dig for water. It’s hard to think about anything else but water. Imagine being that thirsty. That is how much David wanted to be close to God. That is why this verse is great! I love how it talks about desiring God. This verse is saying we should be excited to know God that way. We should be thirsting and longing to know Him more. Have you ever wanted God that much? Today, if you haven’t been making much time for God in your life, make any adjustments. Choose to put God at the forefront of all relationships. Making knowing Him your priority. There is a snippet in the Bible in which we find king Jehoash practically crying for Elisha as he laid dying. Elisha told the king to grab a bow and some arrows, which he did. Elisha then placed his hands over the King’s hands and blessed him. Elisha gave him proper instructions to throw the arrows telling him to shoot. As he shot the arrow Elisha said The Lord’s arrow of victory! Elisha then told the King to grab the arrows and strike the ground. After only three throws,... the king stopped. Elisha was angered at the king stopping. You see, the king was never told to stop and his victory defeating the army of Aram depended on him throwing the arrows. Just as Elisha gave the king the tools necessary to defeat his enemy, God gives us the tools to overcome our biggest fears and our biggest obstacles. God never tells us to stop, so why did you stop at three times? If only the king would’ve kept shooting his shots, he would have defeated this enemies and have been victorious. Good has already declared victory over you. Puedes pensar en algúna quando tuviste mucha hambre? Cómo te hizo actuar el hambre? Por lo general, el hambre te impulsa a hacer algo al respecto. Podría hacerte correr al refrigerador y preparar comida, o ir a comprar algo para comer. Si tienes hambre, haces algo al respecto. El versículo bíblico de hoy habla sobre el hambre y la sed de justicia. El hambre de justicia debería llevarte hacer algo. Si tienes hambre de justicia, actuarás de manera diferente y hablarás de mane...ra diferente. Cambiarás tu forma de vida y las decisiones que tomes. Como Cristianos, deberiamos desarrollar hambre por las cosas de Dios. Deberíamos querer pasar tiempo leyendo la Biblia y en oración. Si no lo haces, es posible que debaes reevaluar lo que es importante en tu vida. Así como el hambre de comida te hace actuar, el hambre de Dios debería hacerte actuar también. Making friends is hard sometimes, isn’t it? I remember when I was in high school and how much I wanted the approval of others. It caused me to only talk to certain people and not others. It affected the clothes I wore, the music I listened to, and the way I talked. It’s often easy to get our value from how others see us. If someone likes us we feel good about ourselves. When they don’t we feel like we have no value. The truth is, not everyone is going to like you. Not every... person is going to be your friend. Even if not everyone has recognized your greatness that doesn’t mean that God hasn’t. God sees you differently than the way others see you. He sees your purpose and potential. When others don’t place value on you, God says that you’re a masterpiece. He loves you and sees the best in you! Prayer: Heavenly Father, praise Your wonderful name that I am Your handywork.
