It’s not always precious metals I work with. Laser welding is something I specialize in. The laser work great with most metals including stainless steel. This stainless steel watch band had a problem with the clasp and the parts aren’t available. I was able to laser both sides with stainless filler wire to secure the joint.

My client wanted a shadow band to fit her pear shape platinum halo wedding ring. She had a simple band that was a family heirloom and wanted to make it fit as a wedding band. The ring needed to be modify to fit her pear shape diamond. After sizing, some modification, and careful fitting we have a new wedding set. She loves it.

It’s been a productive Sunday. I finished a beautiful three stone diamond ring and now I’m working on cutting an Aquamarine. The next step it to give the pavilion a final polish @ 60k grit. From there I’ll turn it over and cut the crown. I have a unique ring design in mind for this one.

I sure like the way these colors work together. Working with my client we started with a 2.01ct light yellow princess cut diamond, added two trapezoids with .92cttw and set them in a combination of Platinum and 18k yellow gold. The goal was to use the 18k yellow to accentuate the color of the princess cut diamond and add a couple F color trapezoids to create contrast. I think we checked all the boxes on this one. I’m always looking for ways to improve my skill set and manufacturing processes. I recently added a vacuum to the bench to help keep thing cleaner and healthier for me.

A prized family heirloom that can now be enjoyed for generations to come. This vintage 14k yellow and white gold diamond ring needed a full restoration and a diamond replaced. I retiped/rebuilt all the prongs, built out the worn shoulders, and added the original milgrain details. It was a lot of time at the laser but worth the effort. #jeweler #longbeach

Progress shot. I do a fair amount of vintage restoration. The process is labor intensive but very rewarding for me to bring a family heirloom back to life. I like to work on one side at a time building up the metal so I can replicate the original artist handmade workmanship. In the picture you can see where I started building with the laser Sometimes they are so worn it’s hard to know what the original detail looked like. This one will look amazing when it’s finished.

A project with so much sentiment. My client came to me with a gold earring that belonged to a loved one. We decided to make it into a pendant, add diamonds and an amethyst.

Just finished these diamond halo stud earrings using my clients two center diamonds. The centers are 3/4 each surrounded by 1.3mm rounds.

This one needed a lot of restoration. The work included retiping 60 prongs, replace 3 Ruby’s, rebuilt 16 prongs and reset all the Ruby’s.

A little maintenance on the laser today. I use the Laserstar on most of the work that comes in my studio. If I’ve done work for you in the past there’s a good chance it was hit with a laser beam. I couldn’t imagine working without it.

This 14k diamond wedding set came in needing some restoration. Most of the prongs were very worn and needed to be rebuilt. After some time at the laser and 70 retips later this ring is like new.

When two become one. My client had this flower ring with a pearl in it. She wanted to remove the pearl and use the bezel set euro cut diamond in place of the pearl. Mission accomplished! See before pics in comments. #jeweler #jewelryrepair #longbeach #jewelry
