Message from Principal Ashton regarding technology support: Hello all Ericson Families, Please find below some important updates regarding student computers and technology assistance!... *Due to popular demand, families no longer have to wait on hold with the Family Technology Line (619-732-1400) in order to exchange a broken device/computer. SDUSD IT Department has four Technology Support Centers for Families to exchange broken student Chromebooks. For those of you just joining Ericson, send out a weekly announcement each Sunday evening. The announcements contain important upcoming dates and information from our PTA and Friends of Ericson Foundation. I am beginning the announcements one week early this year in hopes to better inform our community about current Covid- 19 and School Upd...ates. The school will open through online learning on August, 31st. We will be sending out classroom placement information this week. This week we will be having an optional principal's chat on Tuesday, August 25th at 11:00 am. If you already filled out the survey you do not need to complete it again. Please complete to RSVP. It is paramount that all students have access to their online learning. Families can expect: * School Begins for Students on Aug 31st, your classroom teacher will reach out to you with how to get in touch with daily zoom lessons A six-hour school day with customized learning experiences for each K-12 student School day schedules sent out by each classroom teacher. All students will have daily, live interaction with their teachers via video conferencing daily Custom learning experiences will be based on student needs and will include daily live, online instruction (up to three hours), independent learning (approximately two hours), working with other students in small groups or participating in educator office hours (at least one hour) All elementary students will receive instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, and the arts Students will receive grades to measure their progress Each grade level will have a similar curriculum and assignments Each grade level will utilize Seesaw or Google Classroom as their Learning We look forward to additional communication and if you have any questions please feel free to email [email protected] Thank you, Mrs. Ashton Ericson Elementary School Principal

San Diego Unified is preparing to reopen our schools on August 31st with a focus on health and safety. Families will have a choice of high quality instructional options including attending class online, attending class on campus, or a combination of both. To support us in our planning we are seeking your input regarding your current attendance preference.
