What is ACC (Anhydrous Calcium Chloride) testing and do I really need it? In my play book the answer is both yes and no. For starters, the Calcium Chloride test is meant to give you a measure of the moisture content in your concrete slab. It consists of weighing salt crystals, placing them under a sealed plastic dome on the concrete, weighing them again 60-72 hours later and subtracting the difference in weight (the salt crystals absorb moisture from the concrete).
