It is late. I should sleep. The coyotes are active tonight. I hear them because we sleep with an open window. Memories are passing by like a movie in my head. Thoughts like, " what could I have done differently ? I miss my beautiful boy. We all do. ... His sweet, sensitive temper. He was a very special horse. Medea is sad. She didnt want to eat or drink the first 24 hours after he passed. I was we worried. The babies were angry!? Wild mustang babies. What do I know of wild horses? Not much. And now I lost my friend who helped me foster them ! They lost the big guy who always walked with them in the pasteur, and watched over them. Medea lost her friend who comforted her even when she was grumpy! Now she feels the responsibility for the babies. Maybe the responsibility is overwhelming? I see Rowarrin galloping on green fields with his beautiful thick bangs flying in the wind. He is young again. He is fine, I know. I guess the rest of us will be as well, as time passes by. The coyotes have stopped howling. Hopefully I can sleep tonight

Our wild mustang babies are growing so fast! They are so different in looks and personality! Aragon is gentle, careful, protective and has a lot of integrity. Brego is a loverboy who wants to be number one! He is very active a real little rascal! They are both smart. Aragon is the more careful but he can open any gate.

It's been a while since I wrote. Horses are doing well. They do not particularly like this rainy season when they can't walk out in the pasteur as much, but at least no flies, no dry hot air and constantly strong sun! They actually prefer rain more than the summer sun but the ground here in California becomes so slippery when it rains . It's almost like ice back home in Sweden. Slippery sliding away ! Now Medea is 21 and Rowarrin 19.... Not for real though. I dont understand this rule that all horses have birthday January 1st.!? Anyway time flies! I wish everyone reading this a wonderful 2019 ! See more

It's been a while. So a little message is coming from us here in california. Medea has had so many accidents lately . A never ending story, I thought. First she kicked herself and ripped off her chestnut on her right hind ! Then in a week she got so severe thrash her hind legs were all swollen like lumbar! I did what I could to help her and she was almost well when she got her first colic in her 20 year life!!! Didn't eat, drink or puu. Had to have the vet come out and feed... her with 1 gallon water 1 gallon oil through a tube. She healed . One week later, when we went to take the horses in for the night, she didn't want to walk!! She was standing on 3 legs! It took some time to figure out that she had most likely stomped herself on her right, inside hind, while trying to get up!! So we have been busy!! But now Medea is back ! And the shivers are almost gone !!?? I am so grateful and happy !! Rowarrin is doing fine. He was nervous though, when Medea was sick. It looked like a beaver had stayed the night in the barn. "Why bother making it pretty " ? Was poor StenErik's comment. Rowarrin is my sweet liite meatball :) all he wants to do is go for lazy walks in the neighbors orchard. Which is cozy by the way :) !
