Make sure you pick up a copy of The New Jim Crow for our book discussion. Starts next week. Pro Tip: LA library lets you borrow the eBook for free. Let Pastor Erin know if you need a copy!

NOTICE: The person running this page has no idea how to use Facebook. I had to gin up an account to create the page and am utterly lost. The Facebook interface is horrifyingly unintuitive for this simpleton. How do pages (vs. primary accounts, groups, etc.) even work? It's like the internet's own little Matryoshka doll of information-sucking death. Do I friend the personal account or this one? What even is happening? Wait, is this bad church branding? Whatever. Here's the gif

Powerful stuff; deep thinking. (Nice to see some Epic folk in the chat, too!) The video will be posted on their website soon. Be sure to check it out as we continue to follow Jesus in a life of protest. http://www.panaawtm.org/

https://vimeo.com/415344987 Hey friends, the Simons are in the process of returning from Spain to the US and could use some help in the transition. They would like to get the word out about some ways we can help them (Can you imagine selling almost everything you own, trying to get a flight out of the country during a pandemic and then living out of a suitcase for months until your new destination is settled?!) They write; " As many of you already know, the Lord is calling u...s back to the US for a season. We will be continuingadvancing reallyin more focused full-time ministry... We have many of the normal, but significant transition hurdles in front of us like selling our belongings here, shipping some minimal belongings, finding a new home and school for our children, and figuring out what life in a new America looks like. This is also a transition to a time of parent care-giving, which brings its own set of questions and challenges going forward. One of the other major factors for us is that an international move for us will cost about $30,000 in the end. How we could use your strategic support at this time: -Please pray for our transition in almost every area of life in the next few months during a pandemic! -Can any of you partner with us with a special financial gift to contribute toward our move, or come along side us as ongoing partners? Could any of you who are regular partners consider increasing your regular giving, since our monthly needed budget will increase by ~$1500 per month in cost of living in the Denver area? For tax-deductible donations, go to novo.org and give securely Jeff Simons -Send our kids a welcome back card or blessing. We will be landing in a totally new location for us (CO). Feeling the welcome, even if just by mail or ecard is a huge gift to us and our adventurous kiddos... -Spread the news about our need for a car. We’re ideally looking for an all wheel drive type for CO winters... something reliable, family size, but that we could take camping. If you know someone in another part of the country but wonder if it’s helpful, we’re open to discussing a one-way flight to pick it up! Send a gift card for necessities of settling into a new place. -We won’t see our small amount of shipping until likely October. We left behind or sold 3/4 of our belongingspillows, hangers, spices, cleaning supplies, furniture and all electrical appliances (EU ). Allowing us to gradually restock over the course of the first few months via gift cards is an incredible help...think Trader Joe’s, sprouts, target, Lowe’s, bed bath & beyond, etc. Your friendship is so valuable in this time... Humbled and grateful, Jeff, Sara, Matai y Amali" Contact the office (at) epicchurch.net to get the addresses you need!
