Watching election coverage over the last 24 hours, one phrase has been repeated over and over: "Here is what we know so far." The "analysis" that follows unden...iably demonstrates that the talking heads (no matter their slant) don't know very much at all. So, Here's my slant on "What we know so far." Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. (Romans 2:2) We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. (Romans 7:14) For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin (Romans 6:6) We know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. (Romans 6:9) We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. (2 Corinthians 4:14) We know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (2 Corinthians 5:1) We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28) We know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:34) We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. (Romans 8:22) We know that We all possess knowledge. But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. (1 Corinthians 8:1) We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you (1 Thessalonians 1:4) We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. (1 John 2:3) We know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2) We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. (1 John 3:14) We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. (1 John 4:16) We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. (1 John 5:18) We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:19) We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5:20) If you have made it this far, may I ask you to do one thing? Act on what we know.
