Looking to increase your peak power? Check out Coach BJ's upcoming webinar on Oct 11th. https://rb.gy/4zuyzj BJ Olsen is a USAC certified coach and has been working with members of the board to help improve their TT performances.... In his own words: "Wanted to reach out to let you know that I’m holding a live webinar on cycling specific isometrics for raising peak power on the bike. We’ll cover: - isometrics as a test of overall strength and readiness before a training session - the two types of isometrics and how they affect the body differently - when/how to use each isometric most important is the use of one of the isometric modalities to boost peak watts (power) on the bike. With gyms being in flux, and limited availability to equipment, isometrics can be a great at home alternative. However, the main purpose of the seminar is not alternative-at-home modality, but rather how to get high performance increases due to increased Central Nervous System signaling, MA stiffness, myelination, and concentric potentiation. (for LA athletes) I’m also starting a cycling performance group lifting session in the fall at our sports performance center in Long Beach, California, and this webinar will be a great opportunity to see the types of modalities and technologies we use to get the most from our athletes. For local athletes, this will be a great opportunity to use cutting edge strength sessions to take their cycling to the next level; and for those coaches who are not local but have athletes in the area, we can work with you to help synergize your athletes fitness. For a little background, my name is coach BJ and I am a CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) with focuses on sprint and muscle physiology, as well as a USAC cycling coach, and an elite-field Track Sprinter on the velodrome. Hope to see you there!"
GET OUTSIDE AND RIDE This is 3-1/2 year old Bryleigh. She is one of our Jr training regulars and we think her face says it all! Bring the kids out and build there confidence, character, and immune system. Jr training sessions Thursdays at 4:30 pm-ish. Kids ride for free (although Coach Henry won’t turn down donations). Bring water, your mask, and a smile. It’s been chilly the last week, so layer up. #comeridewithus #encinovelodrome #cycling #bicycle #havefunridebikes
