Emily wanted a way to help her community while remaining socially distanced and safe during the pandemic. The Caring Connections program with Eldersource allowed her to connect with seniors who otherwise might not have had social connections.

I’m just there to listen, and I think that that means so much to them. Carol volunteers with ElderSource's Caring Connections program. When her mother was in an assisted-living facility, she remembered how a simple call brightened her mom's day. So now she's giving back.

Generally, she’s just given me the confidence to make me feel like I’m gonna be okay. And that I’m going to be able to continue to live on my own. Stacy has... macular degeneration. This can make even changing a lightbulb difficult, but she was able to turn to the Arostook Agency on Aging for help and is now visited by a volunteer once a week. See more
