Happy Easter Everyone!

Emily's Garden 09.04.2021

As most of you know, I'm an avid gardener. I grow a lot of flowers!!! Last year I worked really hard in getting my garden to be a happy eco friendly environment, not only to help my garden, but to also help in the decline of our much needed pollinators. So I added things that would attract bees and butterflies, while I also set up numerous bird feeders. The end result was far beyond what I had imagined. Every morning as I walk thru the garden, there are bees snuggled up in m...y flower petals fast asleep, bird song is in the air and it is truly my happy place. At my other house I planted a butterfly garden and that was far better than I could have dreamed! At first I would see 5 maybe 10 butterflies and I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Then around 1:00 each day (for about an hour) they were everywhere! All different colors and sizes fluttering about. It was beyond magical!!!! So in the hopes that you would like to share in my delights, I've brought some things into the store to help create that magic. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. <3 See more

I don't know about you, but at my age I don't need an Easter basket full of a few thousand calories! Now give me something that will make my skin feel soft and smooth and I'm all over that! Here is just one example of what I could put together, should you want to come by and pick out a basket and some things to go into it.

I had a couple come in the other day from out of town. They come by a couple of times a year. She always loads up on my skin care products and he usually just pets Lil' Buddy. But this time, just as they were about to leave, he said "What about a couple of those bird feeders for the XXX girls". As I was bagging them up he said "They are sisters, but one of them is blind, I guess they will both like them." I thought about it for a moment and then realized that when you lose your sight, your other senses become so much stronger. So even though the blind girl won't be able to see the birds feeding, she will be able to enjoy their lovely bird songs as they sit on nearby branches waiting their turn. The thought of that has stayed with me and I love it.

After a loooooooong winter staying indoors, my skin needs a re-charge. I don't know about you, but I need a facial mask right about now to draw out all of those impurities my skin has collected these past few months. My new line of products from Shmear does just that. What I love about the line is the ingredients. They are the big workers when it comes to skin care. The bonus??? They come in big sizes and mini packs. Who doesn't love trying out a mini pack? Inexpensive enough that you can try numerous ones while you find out which is best for your skin. I'd call that a "win win". So come in, grab a mini and get rid of that old winter skin. Rejuvenate it!

Sometimes it's the thought that counts. Who wouldn't love a gift of "Happiness"? Leave it to nature to have herbs and flowers that make us happy.

Cocktails anyone? How about pairing these lovely flutes with a bottle of something bubbly? What a great gift for a wedding present, for a couple, housewarming or just for yourself. You know after all of this "staying in", you deserve something lovely. I'm imagining the tumblers on a tray taken out to the garden on a warm evening, holding something cool and refreshing...a mojito?

People often bring me things that they think I can create something with. So when a customer brought me this glass cake dome, I knew I could make something with it if I could find the right sized base. YAY! a vintage silver cake stand fit perfectly. I'm currently taking an online class from a renown botanist and he inspired me to make this today.

I know I shouldn't (because then I want them all!) but I had to try out the back ordered solar lantern that just came in. This one is blue and 12" round. Now I'm having the hardest time trying to decide which ones to keep for my front porch. Best thing is that I can see it while sitting on my couch looking thru the front window. :-) Magical!

I've had this idea for my window in my brain for a while now. However figuring out the logistics/mechanics and actually putting it together are two different things. I have everything fairly well wired in, but....who knows how it will hold up in rain, snow and wind. So if you do see it drooping, coming apart or pieces of it halfway down the street, do let me know. It's kind of a 2 walk display. In the day time you see the ferns and at night you see the solar lanterns.

Did you know that silk flowers/plants, faux succulents and baskets can pick up a lot of dust over time and they start looking not so good. Not a problem! Simply fill a way tub with some warm water and a little dawn detergent, give them a good swoosh, rinse and they will look good as new!

When you really start to think about the ambiance you want to create in your home, it all comes down to lighting. I'm loving these new night lights made with real leaves.

I came into the store today to start cleaning up the holiday and to start getting ready to paint. (I've got some new looks I want to bring to the store.) I did get the new solar lanterns in the window and if you should drive by tonight, do let me know how they look. On another note, Lil' Buddy cried and cried every time someone walked by. Especially when he saw a small child! He misses you all so much! Poor little guy. :-(
