It's easy to get caught in the cycle of making future decisions that feel safe to our primal brain. Instead of tuning into what we truly want, we unconsciously try to "solve" for what didn't go well in the past. But we abandon a part of who we truly are each time we make a fear-based decision. ... (And to be clear, it's 100% ok to seek safety when planning for next steps. We just want to be aware that we're doing this.) There's a shift that happens when we move from thinking about how to course correct from what didn't work and instead let ourselves be pulled forward by a future vision. Some reflection questions to help pivot away from fear and towards your highest good: Where am I being invited to grow and evolve? What if nothing has gone wrong? How might this all be working out perfectly for me? : @lifecoachschool * * * * #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment #motivation #mindset #selflove #inspiration #selfcare #growthmindset #success #love #growth #mindfulness #lifecoach #selfdevelopment #mentalhealth #positivevibes #goals #coaching #meditation #entrepreneur #leadership #selfawareness #selfimprovement #life #selfhelp #positivity #selfgrowth #spirituality #motivationalquotes See more

Wouldn't it be amazing if... I trusted my path I stopped doubting myself I got in the best shape of my life this year ... These are just some of the answers that came up during a recent call where we were asked to tap into who we want to become this year. There's a part of us that always knows the next step in our path. But it gets buried quickly under old programming, fear, and beliefs about who we think we "should" be. This is why we get that internal tug-of-war feeling, where we want to change but can't seem to get traction. Can you relate? If so, I have two invitations for you: Take a moment to answer this question for yourself Schedule a 20-minute call with me, I'd love to hear what came up and share some resources that can help you bring this future vision to life. At a time when almost all of us are experiencing discomfort of some kind, it's important to identify which experiences are helping us, and which ones are adding unnecessary suffering. Discomfort that helps us grow looks like: Having a difficult conversation Doing something new for the first time... Being willing to feel negative emotions without trying to change or fix them It has a more open, expansive quality (even when facing a difficult situation), and is a necessary part of our growth and evolution. Discomfort that keeps us stuck looks like: Staying in a job/relationship/community for fear of not finding something more aligned with who we are Not speaking our truth to "keep the peace" Procrastinating on things we value because other tasks seem more urgent It has a more closed, narrow quality and often leads to repetitive thought loops. If you're feeling stuck and contracted, I'd love to connect. It's amazing how quickly our experience can shift when we get a little support around whatever is blocking us. * * * * #selfcare #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #coach #mindset #inspiration #selflove #life #lifestyle #selfcare #success #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #meditation #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #loveyourself #fitness #healing #lifechange #lifetransitions

This is such a weird in-between time, isn’t it? I spent the morning reflecting on 2020 - what I learned, how I showed up, and what I want to create in the New Year. I used to get caught up in fantasizing about making big changes (especially this time of year), but one thing I’ve learned in 2020 is how much I value the days when my thoughts, feelings, and actions are all aligned with who I want to be on a daily basis. There’s a satisfying simplicity to deciding what I’m goin...g to do ahead of time, and doing exactly that. At this point, I generally know what I want and have a sense on how to get there (or at least start). Now it’s time to put in the work daily, without entitlement or avoidance. Every day. I’m genuinely excited to keep building my coaching business in 2021, get stronger and healthier, and love the hell out of the people in my life. Even on the days I don’t feel like it

Things that did not go as planned this year: My career Where I live My relationship Health & wellbeing... What I’m truly grateful for right now: My career Where I live My relationship Health & wellbeing I’ve been reflecting A LOT these last two weeks, and honestly - I just have so damn much to be grateful for, even though almost nothing is as I would have expected it to be right now. This photo is from a sunset stroll earlier this week in my (new in 2020!) neighborhood - such a beautiful winter sky in California!

And 2020 has been quite a time to get to know all of our BS ways, hasn’t it? I’ve talked with many people who realized the way they were going about their life just wasn’t working. When the events of this year stripped away their ability to travel, fill their schedules with happy hours, social gatherings, and general busy-ness, they came face to face with their own BS. From there, people generally took one of two paths. ... Either numb out/avoid it all, or dive in deeper to ask themselves the bigger questions in life is this the work I want to be doing? Is this where I want to live? Am I comfortable spending/eating/drinking the amount that I am? Do I like the person I am, or does something need to shift? Whether you’re ready to kick an addictive habit that is keeping you stuck, or are seeking clarity on what is possible for you to create in 2021, I’d love to equip you with the tools, strategies, and mindset needed to transform your life in big or small ways. I love helping people tackle some of their biggest challenges in life. Since starting my coaching practice earlier this year, I’ve noticed that many people are quietly struggling with overdrinking anyone who is having a bit more to drink than they want to, feeling bad about it the next day, or not being entirely in control of when they do or don’t drink. For many, the stressors of 2020 have amplified the role alcohol plays in their life what may have been a casual glass o...r two of wine pre-pandemic, is now a nightly occurrence that can often bring intense feelings of shame or regret the next morning. It’s a habit that has been normalized in our culture, but for many people it has a significant negative impact on how they feel about themselves. That’s why I created a private one-on-one coaching program designed to help men and women identify the root cause of their drinking, and equip them with the tools and guided practice needed to create more wellbeing in their life, with or without alcohol. I would be quite grateful if you helped me get the word out about this program to anyone who could use support right now. This program will start right after the holidays, beginning on January 5th. As we enter into another long stretch of being quarantined at home, with added emotions during the holiday season, it’s time to double down on making choices that make us feel better over time, not worse. I’ve shared my game plan for how to deal with this over on my blog, along with a list of what I do during the week to bring more balance and wellbeing into my life. Here’s to creating nourishing routines for this final stretch of 2020.... https://emilynelsoncoaching.com/how-to-deal-with-evening-a/
