Obviously, we're not accepting visitors right now. Hope you are finding peace in the place where you are sheltering. Deep gratitude to all the health care workers and other essential workers on the front lines.

IT occurred to us that, for folks without power who depend on pumps (as many of our neighbors do) they are also without water. So, uh, what are they doing with their poop? In this, our first ever youtube video, we teach how to create a simple, hygienic composting toilet system with a 5 gallon bucket, so you can answer the call of nature even without water. Maybe you'll never poop in water again!

Emerald Earth is safe from the fires, and, being off-grid, life is fairly normal here right now, save the influx of friends evacuating from the south. Our thoughts and prayers with all of you dealing with fire and evacuation and smoke. We feel very lucky right now.
