This week is Thanksgiving. This is the time of year when Americans reflect on their lives and how grateful they are for what they have. October is domestic violence awareness month and I worked in that field when I was in law school. Working in domestic violence made me feel like I was making a difference in the lives of people who desperately needed legal help, but it also made me realize how scary the world can be.
