Very successful Crazy Days sale today. Thank you for all your donations and support
We are participating in the Downtown Krazy Daze sidewalk sale tomorrow & Saturday, Oct. 16 & 17, from 10 am to 3 pm. We are selling a lot of gift shop items at bargain prices, as well as Pioneer Day Special newspaper editions. Come on by the Carnegie!
Indigenous Peoples' Day celebrates and honors Native Americans. The Salinan tribe inhabited our area for thousands of years. One of our permanent exhibits showcases artifacts and information on their history and culture.
Another Pioneer Day mystery... who are these lovely ladies and what is the year? Any ideas?! Also, if anyone has old Pioneer Day Programs they want to share/donate with the Historical Society/Museum, let us know.
HELP! We cannot find the date for this Pioneer Day when Marion First was queen. She is not on our list of Pioneer Royalty. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Let's look at the 1932 Pioneer Day!
From Our Newspaper Archives... Minutes of the first Pioneer Day meeting, May 28, 1931
The First Pioneer Day Parade, October 13, 1931... We will truly miss this wonderful community event this year!
Another unidentified photo from our collection. It is signed love, Bernice and Kenneth. The photo was taken by Clark -Smith Center. Any ideas?
Does anyone remember Daniel’s Drug Store? 1317 Park St Paso Robles #pasohistory #PASO
We have been busy even though our museum upstairs is not open yet! Here is one of our new acquisitions. The back of the photo identifies these 2 lovely people as Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Hobson, November 1889. We believe this is their wedding photo! After a brief research, we discovered that William John Hobson was in the area from about 1886 to 1896. His wife's name was Mary Ellen Lincoln & two of his children were born here. William was naturalized in SLO County in 1886, was ...a farmer in 1888, and received a land patent in 1891 - 80 acres out near Geneseo Rd. If you look closely at the photo, you will see Mary Ellen holding her husband's hat... he was missing his left arm according to an 1892 voter's registration. Farming accident?! We are so thrilled to have gotten this photo. Think about donating your old photos so that we may preserve them and add to the history of Paso Robles. Don't throw them away! See more
